Agreed. If Jodie and Chibnall had been any kind of true success the BBC would be getting that next series in production for next year, pronto and making any concessions and offers to get Jodie to commit to a full run of 10 or more. Plus the Christmas special would still be a solid fixture. Also they would be itching to make a spin off sister show of some kind, like they did with Torchwood and the SJA.

But one measly episode on the very first day of next year? Just so they can say that WHO was on the air in 2019. Pathetic.

Then 5 or 6 episodes only in 2020? Before - presumably - a regeneration?

And Jodie suddenly realised that she was a single Mum and wasn't able to commit to full runs, while Chibnall suddenly realised that he found making ten episodes a year a bit trying.

Cover stories, methinks.

And this year's DOCTOR WHO annual is still just a large, unsold pile on my local bookshop's store.....

I think the poor merchandise sales is key to the closing down of this era. Which I think is what is happening - unofficially.

Chinballs is finding the work trying? What would have happened if he'd written some good episodes then? Not that I've watched a single moment of her tenure outside of last years Christmas special but I have read the posts on many a forum about the lack lustre series! Is she a single mum? I thought she was married or has she kicked out her husband as it's the in thing these days?

Sorry, my mistake JB. She is a Mum, but not single.

I think that if the BBC really cared about the show - or if they were getting good financial returns on it - they would get in a second showrunner to take up the slack while Chibnall was absent, until he returns - and even have Doctor-lite episodes, where Jodie only has to film a few scenes, just to keep those numbers of episodes up.

As it is, there seems to be no thought, no brainstorming and no care about keeping the momentum of the show going.

It just seems to be fading away - and the BBC just seems content to be complicit in letting that happen, with the actual product getting less and less as time goes on.

Did the Sontarans turn up in the last episode as I'd heard they would? I'll bet they didn't as I've seen nothing about them anywhere on FB and other places! Chinballs ain't got a clue!

Nope, JB.Chibnall kept to his word not to use any old enemies or familiar faces. I am not sure whether this was a good strategy or not.

The New Year's day special promises that that will change - but I am surprised no photo's have leaked out of "the deadliest creature in the universe".

Study: James Bond Has A Drinking Problem

A fun new study published in the Medical Journal of Australia has come to a conclusion pretty much all the rest of the world has long known – James Bond has a drinking problem.

The study authors found that in his entire onscreen career, Agent 007 has drunk 109 times, the most excessive outing being the six Vespers he downed in “Quantum of Solace” which would’ve raised his blood alcohol level to a 0.36 rating – enough to kill some people.

In addition, he binge drinks, drives drunk, brawls drunk, f–ks drunk, and operates nuclear machinery after drinking. That satisfies more than half of the American Psychiatric Association’s DSM-5 criteria for alcohol use disorder.

The study authors concluded: “There is strong and consistent evidence that James Bond has a chronic alcohol consumption problem at the ‘severe’ end of the spectrum. He should seek professional help and try to find other strategies for managing occupational stress.”

The study reportedly won a Christmas competition held by the publication.

Eva Green: Bond Should Always Be A Man

Daniel Craig’s still got one more James Bond in him, after that the casting speculation about who will be the next can begin again.


When it does the inevitable questions will be asked in regards to changing up the character. At least one poll has shown people have little issue with changing the character’s race – but often draw the line at changing his gender or sexuality.

The latest to offer an opinion on this is a former Bond Girl herself and arguably one of the most beloved – “Casino Royale” actress Eva Green. Speaking with Vanity Fair, she said she doesn’t have any ideas on who should replace Craig but is set on the character remaining a man:

“I’m for women, but I really think James Bond should remain a man. It doesn’t make sense for him to be a woman. Women can play different types of characters, be in action movies and be superheroes, but James Bond should always be a man and not be Jane Bond. There is history with the character that should continue. He should be played by a man.”

Both Craig’s wife Rachel Weisz, another former Bond girl Rosamund Pike, and franchise producing head Barbara Broccoli have all made it quite clear there’ll be no ‘Jane Bond’ anytime soon. That said, Green is very happy with the way Bond girls have evolved over the decades:

“I love the fact that the Bond girls have evolved. I originally had reservations about being a Bond girl. I didn’t want to be a bimbo. The women are now perceived differently. They are intelligent and sassy and fascinating. I loved playing Vesper. She’s the only one to get to Bond’s heart and has a big impact on his life. [Daniel Craig’s] made James Bond human. We see him flawed and vulnerable. He’s the best James Bond we have seen.”

Green will be seen back in cinemas later this month in “Dumbo” and has two sci-fi dramas on the way – “Proxima” and the soon to film “A Patriot”. Craig’s final outing as Bond is slated to begin filming next month.

She is not fooling anyone with her glib talk. She is sooooooo obviously sexist and has a problem with women and female equality. It is disgusting and she should be ashamed of herself. :emoji_angry:
