    Review Warlord: Episode 51

A low key end of the series for Servalan, but with Zukan gone I suppose the Federation will gobble up that territory and we're almost back to series 1 as far as The Federation goes. Avon's diplomacy leaves something to be desired as he shouts and bullies the delegates and of course it was doomed...

    Review Orbit: Episode 50

Class from start to finish. Egrorian and Pinder two more brilliant Holmesian double acts. Yep I agree with what's been said already. Except I thought Jackie Pearce was great in that awkward moment with Egrorian. Savident hammed it up a bit and I thought Tarrant would not have any ulterior motive...

    Review Gold: Episode 49

The puzzle is why steal black gold? Only to sell it back to the Federation I suppose but there's no rebellion in that. Perhaps they should have just disposed of it , but that wouldn't hurt the Feds much. In the end Avon realised it was Servalan he was dealing with and all those deaths on the...

    Review Sand: Episode 48

Most fans at the time thought why oh why was it not Avon stranded on Virn with Servalan, but having Tarrant gives a new edge to the future relationship with Avon. Servalan laid bare indeed , or was it a ruse as Tarrant not very convincingly suggested. The probability square would have worked...

    Review Games: Episode 47

Firstly Servalan, yes a pity about her non appearance in the finale, surely such an important character should have appeared, was it so out of order to give Jacqueline a one episode contract? All was needed to satisfy fans was for her to turn up at the end smiling at Avon and saying, "...

    Poll Life After Death?

As Ollie says our relationship to the world after we die is the same relationship as we had before our birth i.e. non existence. We can't be afraid if what's going to happen to us because there is no "us" in being. The only hope is that the soul actually exists and departs our decaying corpse...

This is a bit light hearted but good nevertheless.

Review All Things THE SANDBAGGERS (1978)

Came across this nice image of the main characters. Ray Lonnen as Willie Caine - Sandbagger 1, Richard Vernon as "C" , Roy Marsden as Burnside - the Kerr Avon of the S.I.S., Jerome Willis as Deputy Chief Peele, and Alan Macnaughton as Wellinghan, a thorn often in Burnside's side from his...

    Review Assassin: Episode 46

Oh dear! Where did THAT actress come from? Not out of any acting school I'm sure. She was bad as Piri but worse as Cancer. Agree that Tarrant was a total prat in this. The best bits were on the desert planet Domo at the start, and we get to see Servalan calling Avon her slave. The design of...

    Review Animals: Episode 44

On the face of it a decent story, plenty of intrigue as we learn through Justin what sort of things were going on during the war. My problem with this is that I find Justin terribly dull, and as I've always found Dayna bland , the romance between them is yawn inducing. The best bits are Servalan...

    Review Headhunter: Episode 45

This has a lot going for it, Orac being taken over and threatening Humanity's demise, Soolin really starts contributing here, Glynis Barber will be excellent from now on, and the rebellious Slave when Tarrant and Vila are taking Muller back to base are all good. However it is spoiled by the...

Review Outside Edge ( cricket comedy)

This is a wonderful comedy with a tip top cast. Brenda Blethyn Robert Daws, Timothy Spall, Josie Lawrence along with Dennis Lill ( Charles from Survivors) , and Michael Jayston star in Cricket folk comedy. The trials and tribulations of running a Cricket Club, the game itself takes a back seat...

    Review Roberts Robots (1973)

Actually no I don't have that DVD, I have both series of Roberts Robots which I admit is a guilty pleasure. April Olrich apparently a movie star of the 50's and 60's put in a weirdly fascinating performance in series two of this and John Clive as Robert is always good to see.

    Review Roberts Robots (1973)

OMG can't believe I'm actually flagging this up. Very childish series written by Rentaghost author Bob Block. It has a slapstick charm and admittedly some fine performances from the cast just having fun.

    Review Stardrive: Episode 43

If this was an episode of Buck Rodgers we'd applaud it as genius, but for Blakes7 it's poor but necessary as the Scorpio finally gets the final element to turn it into Liberator mark 2. I think that was a mistake, it would have been interesting to keep it as a slow rust bucket. The idea of the...

    Review Traitor: Episode 42

Okay the fourth series starts looking up here . The old guard are back in power and Servalan is now a non person believed to be dead and forgotten. I'm ok with this and like the fact that after an aimless series 3 we have a definite reason for our heroes to fight with the Federation expanding...

    Fun Philosophy

I've read a lot of philosophy books in my time purely for pleasure, not in a serious study situation, but being a Sci fi fan I've always been fascinated by time and the structure of it and what exactly is time? This fun video examining McTaggert's theories is very cool.
