Avon sets out to recruit Justin, one of Dayna's former tutors and former lover who is conducting genetic engineering experiments. But Servalan captures Dayna and brainwashes her into hating Justin and forces Justin share with her his discoveries on his experiments.

Yet another attempt to recruit an expert. You just know how this is going to end.

Thanks to Cally leaving, of course, this script got a rewrite and Dayna's infamously dodgy relationship with Justin was born! "My lovely little pupil, Dayna!"

On top of that Dayna gets a session in the Orgasmo-chair! Avon slips and recovers well. And a cow throws Dayna down a cliff after she tries to make friends with him, despite shooting one of his mates.

Everything ends unhappily of course.

Surely there must be a good episode at some point?

Happily the next one is a vast improvement.

On the face of it a decent story, plenty of intrigue as we learn through Justin what sort of things were going on during the war. My problem with this is that I find Justin terribly dull, and as I've always found Dayna bland , the romance between them is yawn inducing.
The best bits are Servalan with Kevin Stoney's ex Federation character and of course Servalan and the chair scene. Which reminds me of Monty Pythons "Spanish Inquisition" sketch "Put her in the comfy chair".
Also Vila's ballast tank antics were fun.
