The seven have lost their way.

They are now cold-blooded killers of innocent people who are, after all, only doing their jobs. While stealing for profit. Their morality is now zero. Perhaps when Cally died their conscience died.

In terms of an episode, Roy Kinnear is excellent, showing both charm and vicious ruthlessness. A truly under-rated actor. He plays his character very well, with no sense of phoning it in. He really goes for it.

The appearance of you know who at the end seems pointless. Does she have to be everywhere they go and involved in everything they do?

An excellent episode - and it is nice to see that the last few episodes of Blake's 7 were good quality .

The puzzle is why steal black gold? Only to sell it back to the Federation I suppose but there's no rebellion in that. Perhaps they should have just disposed of it , but that wouldn't hurt the Feds much. In the end Avon realised it was Servalan he was dealing with and all those deaths on the Space Princess and at the processing plant were to swindle her. Our heroes are all anti heroes now doing sod all for the mass of the oppressed.
The actual plot to get the gold and then smuggle it off the ship was clever and Roy Kinnear excellent.
6/10
