Four minutes in and Peter says he and Moffat never really discussed what he should do with the character. Instead he, as a professional actor, "just show up and do what's written; try and make that work. But I wanted to make him an alien creature who found it difficult to relate to human beings".
A damning indictment of the Moff, imo.
