Fun What TV Shows Are You Watching/Rewatching at the Moment?

Currently watching Stranger Things, season 2. Also, catching up with Time After Time. The two hour pilot basically follows the original movie. Not great, but not as bad as some of the reviews I have read.

    Review It: Chapter Two (2019)

Given that it returned $683,428,183 from a $35,000,000 budget, there was no doubt that part 2 would be announced. Part 1 was terrific. If they can keep that momentum going, then roll on 2019.

Fun The Last Movie That You Watched?

Last movie watched at the cinema was Happy Death Day. It was OK. The Groundhog Day factor added an unusual context to the movie. Watched Star Trek II The Wrath Of Khan on dvd last night. It still kicks ass, one of the best Star Trek cinema efforts.

    Review Kong: Skull Island (2017)

I enjoyed Kong: Skull Island. It was an entertaining two hours. The one issue I did have, I had the same issue with the '76 remake. Why does Kong walk like a human and not an ape?

Fun THE DEVELOPMENT HELL THREAD: Where Abandoned Movie Projects Go to Die!

Doc, I thought that World War Z 2 had been postponed. With a possible release in either 2018 or 2019.

    Review Awful Remakes?

I had no interest in Michael's backstory. And changing his family from what appeared to be a middle class family to a white trash abusive household just ruined it for me. The beauty of the original is that we have no connection to Myers other than as a killer. He is an unknown quantity, savage...

Fun Life (2017) question about Calvin

How did Calvin get back on the station? Or had it replicated, and that was the one wrapped to Hugh Derry's leg.

Fun THE DEVELOPMENT HELL THREAD: Where Abandoned Movie Projects Go to Die!

We will see what happens when Cameron retains the writes. Arguable, they will at least be in the hands of someone who knows what to do with them.

Fun THE DEVELOPMENT HELL THREAD: Where Abandoned Movie Projects Go to Die!

The Terminator reboot has been cancelled. Paramount have no plan to re-visit the franchise. However, that might change, in 2019, when the writes revert back to James Cameron.

Fun TV: One Season Wonders That You Still Mourn the Loss of!

Four of the top of my head. Firefly: clearly one if the best sci-fi series to hit television. Journeyman: I am a sucker for time travel stories. This clearly had potential . Apparently it was all setting up a story resolution revolving around the young son. Odyssey 5: After witnessing the...

Fun TV MOVIES That You Loved!

*****SPOILER WARNING**** Remember this fondly. I'm sure I had the VHS release at one point. As a sucker for a time travel story and the Kennedy assassination, this played straight into my wheelhouse. Particularly like subplot regarding the brother killed in Nam. Put an entirely different slant...

    Review Grimm (2011)

I have followed Grimm from the beginning. Very good tv series. It's had a fair run and this is possibly a good time to wrap up the story. Better that than flogging it to death. However, I will be sorry to it end.

    Review Hannibal (2013)

This had a terrific season 1. One of the best series I have seen. I have been a fan of Michael Mann's Manhunter since I first saw it, a wonderfully intense and disturbing experience. William Petersen gives a career best performance. Lector's interactions with Graham have always been my favourite...

    Review Alien (1979)

This is a classic. Great story by Ronald Shusett and Dan O'Bannon. A fine cast and not one substandard performance. Skilled direction from Ridley Scott with his second feature film. The real master stroke was employing two artists with diametrically different styles; Ron Cobb designing all human...

    Review Alien Resurrection (1997)

Disaster! Not one single likable character, including Ripley. While most people hate Alien 3, I thought Resurrection was the turkey in the franchise.
