    Review Echo and the Bunnymen

I know McCulloch thought it was rather hurtful and treacherous to have the Bunnymen release an album without him, but the 1990 work " Reverberation" I thought was okay. Noel Burke on vocals

    Review Echo and the Bunnymen

Nice to find another Bunnymen fan. The latest release " Meteorites" seems as fresh as their early material. Favourite album has to be Heaven Up Here. Ian McCulloch's solo stuff is good too, his latest LP had a , now poignant song, asking David Bowie if he's okay and was a homage to a hero of...

Possibly my all time Bunnymen song. A driving riff from their second release Heaven Up Here

    Review Echo and the Bunnymen

Another fab eighties band and still going! Consistently good, not really changed style at all, which I love. Can't think of a disappointing album. " Siberia" best of recent times and " Heaven Up Here" from the early days.

    Review Simple Minds

The big breakthrough hit, still a great song , this absolute style of production is unique to this album, never really repeated this exact production sound again.

    Review Simple Minds

Jim Kerr's Simple Minds, started off as a very arty weird Indy band, with some inventive early albums. Empires and Dance particularly good and a eclectic mix of new wave and heavy guitars. The New Gold Dream release was the breakthrough with the hit " Promised You A Miracle". It was upwards...

    Review New Musik

Tony Mansfield went on to big things as a producer. This I think was their first hit.

    Review New Musik

God this takes me back! I was in my late teens and I couldn't get enough of this band. The first band I really felt I was a fan of. If they ever released any new stuff I'd probably run out and buy it.

    Review Cabaret Voltaire

Cab Vol and later on Kirk's solo stuff, there were plenty of sampling of American bible preachers speeches with the band's unique sound overlaying the preacher's words. A weird concept but Cabaret Voltaire is an unusual band. This is an early track and is well appreciated by fans.

    Review Survivors (1975)

Never saw the rebooted series because this original series was so good. The third series is my favourite, which I know is not too popular with Survivors fans, but I liked the new settlement each week scenario. Some very good episodes in this series, the two Ian McCulloch written ones "A Little...

    Review Blake's 7 (1978)

Voice From The Past Can anybody seriously defend this episode? Seen it recently, forgotten how poor it is. Blake is dreaming about being sentenced to Cygnus Alpha after being found guilty of membership of the freedom party. No he wasn't! His sentence then was to undergo brainwashing and...

    Review Richard H Kirk

This thread concentrating on the composer and musician behind Cabaret Voltaire. Since the end of Cab Vol Kirk has released so many works it's impossible to say how many. Even wikipedia only gives a partial discography. Kirk has recorded under various guises, Electronic Eye, Sandoz, Al Jabr...

    Review Cabaret Voltaire

Okay , maybe I should apologize for this , the ULTIMATE CHALLENGE, a twenty minute dirge called Eastern Mantra, a pseudo Buddhist chant with Cab Vol early guitar thrash over it. It's a challenge to listen to this, after about five minutes you lose the will to carry on, it washes over you putting...

    Review Cabaret Voltaire

Away from the more accessible stuff this is not easy to sit through. The visuals are a barrage of images, you get a glimpse of some unpleasant images in this track " Diffusion"
