Review All Things THE SANDBAGGERS (1978)

Thanks for the interest!. I've probably gone OTT in relating these stories, but it was too tempting not to. I'm particularly pleased with my retelling of eps "Special Relationship" and "Operation Kingmaker", the best two episodes IMO.

Review The Ghosts Of Motley Hall -s01e04- Bad Lord William and the British Banana Company

Luckily who know who is not reviewing this show, he'll probably rip it to shreds. Yes there's inconsistency, it's not exactly clear what objects the ghosts can pick up or not. The swords were real and the wall panel was opened effortlessly by one of them at the end. But it's all just a bit of...

Review DISCUSSION- CATWEAZLE: THE TELLING BONE - Episode 07

One of my favourite episodes of series 1. We meet Mrs Woodyard and realise why Sam spends so much time at the farm. George Bennett on the phone to the vicar was amusing, " I think they're both potty". But of course Catweazle's first encounter with the telling bone was the highlight, as the vicar...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: ORAC - Episode 13

The Phibians were always a bit of a laugh in fan circles. B7 not really a monsters show, luckily only two or three more episodes with creatures in them, and are pretty dire too, the creatures not the stories. Hopefully not a spoiler to say Travis will be back, too good a character to not have...

Review The Ghosts Of Motley Hall s01e02-Old Gory

Yes indeed Griffin's long lost ancestor. Gerald James the ghost hunter was ubiquitous in the 70's , usually playing suited business men types, or spy chiefs or cop shows like the Sweeney as Mr Big. All the ghosts are interesting and likeable in their own way. I think the wife could see them all...

Review The Ghosts Of Motley Hall s01e03-Box Of Tricks

James Berwick was the policeman, usually appears as US gangsters in various 70's productions. In fact appears as such a character in Thriller episode " Where The Action Is" Best episode so far, best bit was when they accidentally switched from Horse racing to cookery. " we don't want to know...

An almost separate group of Cope albums, Skellington, minimalist short songs about 2-2.30 minutes long some even shorter, originally mail order only, the latest Skellington 3 is available in shops from this week. Some wonderfully strange lyrics.

    Review BLAKE'S 7: "SHADOW" - Episode 15

A real minimalist production, saving money, deliberately written as such by Chris Boucher. The Cally/Darkness /Orac plotline was intriguing. Brush Strokes star Karl Howman was very good. The federation guards costumes on Zondawl were a bit naff, but Sally Knyvette looked good in her white gear...
