There are people who still watch shows when they're broadcast? I watch everything on delayed stream so I don't have to limit myself to viewing at a specific time.

I honestly can't see any value in an Obi-Wan spin-off. We've seen his story and it should be assumed that once he settled on Tatooine he was in hiding and wouldn't have advertised his presence too much. Surely there are other stories that could be told?

They are quite different stories. As far as I recall, the majority of Yesterday's Son is built around a standard Star Trek concept with the Enterprise and Romulans, while Time for Yesterday is largely Kirk, Spock and McCoy travelling back in time to a medieval style world.

James Blish totally got the show, which is why his books of the shows episodes were so successful, paving the way for the wider novel universe and eventually the return of the show via animation and then movies. The fact that he was a brilliant sci-fi writer in general didn't hurt either...
