    Review Mary Magdalene (2019)

It doesn't help that Rooney Mara can't act. Like, she has one expression, and no emotion her delivery. And the fact that, and let's be honest, we really don't need yet another Bible-based movie. Maybe I'll just go and watch The Dirt again. At least that had a kickass soundtrack. And tits.

    Review Mary Magdalene (2019)

@The Seeker Scratch part of that. It was Pope Gregory I in 591 BCE, Apparently, because he was, indeed, an asshole. http://time.com/5210705/mary-magdalene-controversial/

    Review Mary Magdalene (2019)

I just woke up, so I can't be exact in the details, but there were a shitload of Marys in that section of the new testament, and a very influential priest/cardinal basically smashed a couple of them due to laziness or for manipulation purposes. There was Magdalene, who scholars believe was an...

    Review Rosanne (1988)

Aren't conservatives all about "personal responsibility"? Why, in the age of Trump, do they all find others to blame their actions on? Oh, yeah...

    Fun The Trek Franchise!

As I said recently here, one of my biggest issues with the Kelvin Timeline is that Kirk's vast service and the expertise and experience that goes with it is foregone and replaced with him being rushed through to Captain. That being said, there are things about it I like, and I think that Beyond...

Fun Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987)

I do have to say, as cool as the idea behind this refit is, the concept of the third nacelle on top never made much sense to me outside of it just looking cool.

Not necessarily TOS, but I'll leave this here for everyone's enjoyment.

Fun Star Trek: The Original Series

I have still never watched an episode of Discovery, but I think I would be hard pressed if someone asked me "Would you like to binge season one of Discovery or watch ST The Motion Picture and ST V back to back" which one I would choose.

Fun Star Trek: The Original Series

I'll still never forget the first time I watched Search for Spock, and saw the Enterprise blow up. I think I cried for a week.

Review Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020): First Trailer

I am so torn on this one. On one hand, I love the first two films, and have always wanted to see a sequel. On the other hand, this has real potential to fail, and fail hard, which just sullies the whole series.

    News Sherlock Holmes 3 (2021)

I dunno. Part of my appeal for Holmes is that he's quintessentially a British icon, and works best in England, and by proxy, anywhere else in Europe. I'm not saying I won't watch it, or that I may not enjoy it, but this feels like a misstep.

Fun Star Trek: The Original Series

I just rewatched the season one episode Court Martial, and it now dawns on me the real issue I have with the Abrams movies. The whole original argument used to plead Kirk's innocence is his many years of service, and how, as Kirk himself puts it, he has trained to not crack under the stresses of...
