My attitude is that I would rather see a franchise I love put down and out of it's misery - and cherish the memories of what was, rather than see them mutated any more than they have been.
And to think I was pleased when it was announced that the 2005 Who series would be a direct continuation, rather than a reboot that I could easily dismiss.
Instead, it's been a vampire, as has Big Finish, feeding off the classic original while mocking it with quips - and also gradually rewriting it's central core. (Clara was always there, guiding our hero. The Doctor just might have been a woman before.)
The good news is that we do, as individuals, have the power to say enough is enough and not part with a single penny more to these.... distorted versions of what we once loved.
It's the only language these idiots understand.
