It's so true! Make a film or show that upsets the majority of it's long term fans and you've got a sinking franchise! But these know it alls think they know better and do all they can to antagonize the followers of the series and then can't believe it when their wages suddenly dry up!!!

In total agreement here. All the time spent giving up on these lame and smug continuations of our beloved franchises of yesteryear, made by people who have the audacity to publicly insult us if we don't like their wares, I am now going to spend on methodically watching all the episodes of shows that I missed the first time around.

I am currently binge-watching STAR TREK: VOYAGER and am up to season 2. Yes, it has the usual mix of good and treading-water episodes, but am really enjoying it for what it is, as I missed the vast majority of episodes the first time around. Also love the fact that they managed to have a woman as the lead without having to have glass ceilings in any of the trailers.

Future binge-watching plans of famous shows I never saw include TIMESLIP and UFO, with a side order of THE STRANGE WORLD OF GURNEY SLADE, to name but three. :emoji_alien:

I totally agree with everything in this video.

The film company wants it both ways. They want all the fans of the James Bond character to still flock to the cinema, while simultaneously destroying, removing and perhaps even completely replacing everything about the 007 character of earlier movies - and certainly of the books - at the same time.

If they really are ashamed of Fleming's creation to this degree, then they really should quit and create a brand new hero/heroine for these times, attuned to modern sensibilities.

The Bond films of yesteryear would still be there for those who wished to enjoy them for what they were. As would the Fleming original novels.

Any other increasing watering down or compromise in the movies is dishonest.

Time to lay the filmic Bond to rest, I think....

I agree in principle to laying the Bond franchise down but why should we do this for this maniacal reasoning to wipe out all white male heroes?
Why are the women of the Connery and early Moore eras so much better looking and sexier than those of the eighties, nineties and two thousands? Apart from Monica Bellucci, who was only in about fifteen minutes of Spectre if that, the rest of Bond's gals from those times are like butch and emaciated!

My attitude is that I would rather see a franchise I love put down and out of it's misery - and cherish the memories of what was, rather than see them mutated any more than they have been.

And to think I was pleased when it was announced that the 2005 Who series would be a direct continuation, rather than a reboot that I could easily dismiss.

Instead, it's been a vampire, as has Big Finish, feeding off the classic original while mocking it with quips - and also gradually rewriting it's central core. (Clara was always there, guiding our hero. The Doctor just might have been a woman before.)

The good news is that we do, as individuals, have the power to say enough is enough and not part with a single penny more to these.... distorted versions of what we once loved.

It's the only language these idiots understand.

Filming has officially wrapped on “No Time To Die,” the 25th instalment of the James Bond franchise and the fifth and final outing of its current star Daniel Craig.

The official 007 Twitter account shared an image of Craig and director Cary Fukunaga on set with the caption: “That’s a wrap on #NoTimeToDie. See you in cinemas April 2020.” A clapperboard marked with the date October 25th confirms the film’s final day of production.

Yeah, I think I'll skip that appointment in the cinema.

I may or may not end up watching this film, but at this stage, I'm not making any promises.
