Yes, it has become clear that they actually don't give a damn for any of the continuity at all, caring only to keep the audience watching, at all costs, with flashy visuals and lots of whizzes and bangs. Explosions, violence and arguing. Oh, and misplaced f-bombs now too. Coz people will hear about the swearing and might tune in, coz no publicity is bad publicity to their mind.
A good example of the mentality behind this garbage is that there was one scene where Michael was talking quietly - in a friendly way - with another character. It was even shaping up to be two people being pleasant to each other.
So what happened? Clearly the programme makers got worried that the audience might be getting bored of two characters getting on and having a testosterone free conversation of any length. So they had the entire outer hull of the room rip away and the guy she was talking to died a horrible death, flip-flopping into the vacuum of space, while she was protected inside the brig.
The only DISCOVERY has been the depths of fear that the programme makers have about losing the attention of their audience.
