I don't know who Peter Davison was playing, but it wasn't entirely the Doctor.

Why has Five - the most placid and gentlest of Doctor's - suddenly become so harsh, accusatory, curmudgeonly and dim?

It takes him faaaaaar too long to realise that the stranger in the Tardis is himself. Five was no idiot back in the day.

Moffat's "cute" dialogue about "Decorative vegetable/Look at me, I'm wearing a vegetable, kettle and bits of string, Time Lords with funny hats, Rubbish-beard", Hovers delicately on the wrong side of mockery, with what I see as Moffat's contempt for numerous aspects of the JNT era clearly showing through.

One tacked on bit at the end about "You were my Doctor", where Tennant frankly breaks character and the fourth wall and lets his fanboy show through, doesn't really restore the balance.

I don't see much sincere affection on the writing side in this homage.

On the other hand, it's just a bit of fun, so I will let it go. :emoji_alien:
