Agreed over the why open the gates and let your hated enemies inside your community! The last two shows have been getting better though I must admit and it's weird that there are only two more shows left until that's it for another six months or so! Shame that Fear isn't transmitted on FOX! I used to watch that on YouTube but last year it was removed before I could even get to the computer!!!

“Walking Dead” S9 To Reset The Show

With the ratings slipping and fan complaints rising, AMC’s “The Walking Dead” looks set to course correct next season.

Showrunner Scott M. Gimple spoke with EW this week and says this coming weekend’s season finale will wrap up not just this season’s arc but many of the story arcs from the past eight seasons.

Gimple is leaving with Angela Kang taking over as showrunner for next season, and as a result the ninth season will be something of a new beginning:

“I was there, and it was an intense vibe. It was a very hard season. And kind of everybody is in this episode. It was just intense. People were pretty to the limit this year emotionally. Also, this episode isn’t just like these 15 episodes coming to a conclusion, but Angela and myself and the writers had always talked about this in many ways being sort of the conclusion of the first eight seasons. This show will be very much a new show next year and with a bigger, new narrative.”

The season finale, entitled “Wrath,” airs on April 15th.

Is Andrew Lincoln Departing “Walking Dead”?

is-andrew-lincoln-departing-walking-dead-696x464.jpg

With ensemble shows with a lot of deaths, there always seems to be at least 2-3 leading characters who are always going to be safe and in almost every episode. No-one is going to kill the likes of Jack Bauer or Tyrion Lannister after all.

Things may be about to change though as a new report at Collider indicates actor Andrew Lincoln will only be playing his signature role of Rick Grimes in a total of six episodes in the upcoming sixteen-episode ninth season of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”.

The report, which has yet to be confirmed by AMC or the show’s producers, suggest something is up. Previously it was confirmed that actress Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie on the series, is returning and confirmed to be only involved six episodes as well.

The site adds that Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon will step up and become the show’s new leading man following Lincoln’s departure, and will be well compensated for it too with a new $20 million contract. How fans will respond isn’t clear. In the comics Rick is still the central character and vitally important to upcoming storylines.

Viewership of the series is definitely down with the new season promising to be something of an overhaul. “The Walking Dead” season 9 is expected to premiere later this year.

Six episodes for Rick, could be that he will be spread across the series but not seen in numerous episodes like back in season four where he only appeared in eleven shows I think! If Rick leaves though what is the point of continuing with the series? It's his story from the beginning that we are watching not everyone else's! They might as well end the show with this season then is the best idea!

AMC Pulls ‘Talking With Chris Hardwick’ After Chloe Dykstra’s ‘Troubling Allegations’

Hardwick has also withdrawn as moderator on AMC and BBC America’s planned Comic-Con 2018 panels, the network announced Saturday.

“We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years. We take the troubling allegations that surfaced yesterday very seriously,” AMC said in a statement.

“While we assess the situation, ‘Talking With Chris Hardwick’ will not air on AMC, and Chris has decided to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month.”

Hardwick has been a mainstay at AMC since 2011, when he began hosting the talk show “Talking Dead” after the premiere episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 2. Hardwick has also hosted “Talking Bad” after “Breaking Bad,” “Talking Saul” after “Better Call Saul,” and “Talking Preacher” after “Preacher.”

On Saturday, NBC also announced that it would “assess” its ties to Hardwick, who was expected to begin shooting the third season of the primetime game show “The Wall” in September.

“These allegations about Chris Hardwick took us by surprise as we have had a positive working relationship with him,” the network said in a statement, adding, “we are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome.”

On Friday, Hardwick’s name was scrubbed from the Nerdist website. Hardwick co-founded founded Nerdist in February 2012, and the company was sold to Legendary Entertainment in July of that year.

“The company has removed all reference to Mr. Hardwick even as the original Founder of Nerdist pending further investigation,” a rep said, noting that his contract ended last December and he “had no operational involvement with Nerdist” for the previous two years.

There are many degrees of controlling behaviour, some bad some not so! Some accusations are made due to other events that people are not privy to! I always think it's strange when people make such claims years after they've split up with their alleged abuser! Sometimes it's just jealousy plain and simple!
At first I thought this was going to be about AMC pulling the plug on The Walking Dead after season nine, but alas no! The only thing Chris Hardwick is definitely guilty of is lying to us about how good the Walking Dead episode we've just seen was even if it wasn't really that good!!!

The Walking Dead
Cassady McClincy has joined the swelling cast of series regulars and recurring players hopping onto AMC zombie drama “The Walking Dead” for its ninth season. McClincy will play the recurring role of Lydia.

The new season.................

jumps forward in time and introduces the Whisperers, a new group of survivors who walk among the dead in skin suits made of human flesh. The Whisperers are overseen by Alpha (Samantha Morton) and Lydia is Alpha’s daughter.

Samantha Morton is playing Alpha? She could look like the character! But I wonder if she'll have the same fate as her comic version? I doubt it very much and Negan becomes a hero! I ran into a guy who reads the comics the other day and he told me that Negan is long gone from the comics! I wonder, does anyone know if that is true?

Beta is second-in-command to Samantha Morton’s Alpha, the leader of The Whisperers which serve as antagonists this season. Hurst is one of several new characters arriving next year.

Can't say I've heard of him, Doc! But then I've never seen that show anyway! I'm not sure how to deal with this new season if I see it with Rick's departure? It's a bit like Doctor Who without the Doctor...oh wait..:emoji_smirk:

AMC Plans Another Decade Of “Walking Dead”

amc-plans-another-decade-of-walking-dead-696x464.jpg

The ratings have slid, any sort of critical acclaim is long gone, and two of its five main regulars are leaving. Nonetheless, AMC is sticking to its guns with “The Walking Dead” franchise.

Speaking with THR, AMC Networks CEO Josh Sapan says the basic cable network intends to keep the franchise ticking for many years to come: “The Walking Dead is a universe…and we have a plan to manage over the next decade, plus. That plan is a careful plan to respect the world of the fans of that world.”

The upcoming ninth season of the main series marks a real test with a new showrunner, new tone, a heavily overhauled cast and an eighteen month or so time jump that will effectively reset a bunch of it.

I had heard that Andrew Lincoln was to be in six of the sixteen episodes of the ninth season but yesterday on FB I was told he dies in the fifth show and that Maggie leaves in the sixth! Well not sure about this as Rick is the star and main character of the show and without him, well, how arrogant are the producers to say that the show will carry on for another decade now?

“Walking Dead,” “Stranger Things” Games Axed

DSAFSDD.jpg

Following on from yesterday’s news about the majority studio closure of Telltale Games and the firing of much of its staff, it has been confirmed that all the company’s upcoming projects have been scrapped including the planned “Stranger Things” games, “The Wolf Among Us 2” and even the final season of “The Walking Dead”.

The latter is the most interesting in that the first episode of a planned five for “The Walking Dead: The Final Season” has already been released with the second due next week. However, with the team that handles that game being laid off suddenly, the game will be left unfinished with the second episode launch to be the last.

What two dozen staff remain out of the hundreds that were employed will be working on the Minecraft Story Mode project for Netflix, matching the company’s statement it will fulfil its obligations to its board and partners. Social media has been filled with posts from people claiming to be former staffers at the Bay Area-based video game company are seeking work and alleging they did not receive severance pay.
