Parents need to teach their kids that if they don't want to do something, say "No." Also teach them not to go off alone with men. The girl was of legal age and admittedly consented so nothing is going to come of it except to damage Stallone's reputation a little but he's way past that mattering.

PBS Cancels “Charlie Rose” Following Allegations

pbs-cancels-charlie-rose-following-allegations-696x464.jpg

PBS has announced that is has cancelled the long-running and award-winning interview program “Charlie Rose” in the wake of claims of sexual harassment levelled at the program’s host. This follows CBS News earlier firing the veteran anchor from the CBS Corp. unit.

In a detailed article on Monday, The Washington Post reported the accounts of eight women who said Rose had harassed them. These women worked as junior-level producers for his PBS program and/or aspired to do so. He reportedly invited them to work at his house and then allegedly approached them in a sexual manner.

CBS, PBS and Bloomberg all suspended Rose who said in a statement: “I am greatly embarrassed. I have behaved insensitively at times, and I accept responsibility for that, though I do not believe that all of these allegations are accurate. I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken.”

The show has been something of an institution in American TV journalism since 1991 with Rose doing one-on-one interviews with newsmakers from the worlds of politics, culture, business and more. Not any longer with PBS saying in a statement they’ve officially: “terminated ther relationship with Charlie Rose and cancelled distribution of his programs.”

A Bloomberg spokesman adds that they have also terminated their agreement to rebroadcast episodes of the show. This marks just the latest in a series of exposes of media figures using their positions of power to attempt striking up sexual relationships with women in subordinate roles.

Rose’s co-anchors on “CBS This Morning,” Norah O’Donnell and Gayle King,” have spoken about their reaction to the news:

Pixar co-founder and “Toy Story” and “Cars” director John Lasseter is taking a six-month leave of absence from the company in light of new sexual harassment allegations.

THR reports one major incident involved actress and writer Rashida Jones who was writing the script for the upcoming fourth “Toy Story” with her partner Will McCormack. She left the project early on after Lasseter made an unwanted sexual advance towards her although she and McCormack are still credited as writers on the sequel.

Lasseter serves as the chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios and DisneyToon Studios. His inappropriate behavior allegedly also entailed uncomfortable long hugs with employees along with “grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes” and heavy drinking at company functions.

Lasseter has sent out a full memo to employees deeply apologising for making any employees feel disrespected or uncomfortable. A Disney spokesperson made the following statement: “We are committed to maintaining an environment in which all employees are respected and empowered to do their best work. We appreciate John’s candor and sincere apology and fully support his sabbatical.”

The news hits as Pixar’s newest animated feature “Coco” opens today and has scored the company’s best reviews in years.

LAPD Looks Into Hollywood Misconduct Scandals

lapd-looks-into-hollywood-misconduct-scandals-696x464.jpg

The Los Angeles Police Department reportedly has a whopping twenty-eight open sex crime cases involving Hollywood and media figures under active investigation.

Speaking via email to The Los Angeles Times, police chief Charlie Beck said five teams of two special assignment detectives are investigating various allegations against figures such as Harvey Weinstein, actor Ed Westwick, “Girls” writer Murray Miller and agent Tyler Grasham among others.

All of the accused have denied the allegations, and Beck tells the paper:

“We anticipate the LAPD and other jurisdictions will receive even more high profile sex crime reports in the coming weeks and months. We encourage all victims of sexual assault to come forward to report these crimes.

We recognize the significant trauma these victims suffer at the hands of the predators who commit these heinous crimes. Our detectives are coordinating closely with our local prosecutors and other police agencies, including the NYPD. The high-profile nature of these particular cases has not changed our unyielding commitment to seek justice for ALL victims of sexual assault”

Beyond the twenty-eight, a further thirty-seven other sex crimes reports have been sent to other jurisdictions with some LAPD cold case unit members also involved. Some cases however could not be pursued because the statute of limitations was already up, with actor Corey Feldman’s report about his sexual abuse as a child in the industry reportedly being one of those.

This report follows in the wake of last week’s stories about alleged cases of sexual misconduct and/or inappropriate behavior involving Pixar head John Lasseter, journalist Charlie Rose, “Wolf Creek” star John Jarratt, and former “Backstreet Boy” Nick Carter.

So, Matt Lauer gets fired, and Trump is immediately on Twitter denouncing him. But he keeps insisting that Roy Moore is innocent.

Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP.

I know murder has no limitation, but what about all this celebrity nonsense. People are losing their careers & being blacklisted over stories w/no proof. If there were text messages, letters, & notes, why weren't they saved? Last woman who went after a celeb keep the blue dress as proof. So why are these women not doing the same? If you're going to squer someone keep the proof.

Netflix Fires “Ranch” Star Masterson

netflix-fires-ranch-star-masterson-696x464.jpg

Actor Danny Masterson has been fired from Netflix’s scripted comedy “The Ranch” following multiple allegations of rape. The LAPD has reportedly been investigating sexual assault claims against Masterson and a potential Church of Scientology cover-up since March.

Netflix said in a statement: “As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of The Ranch. [Monday] was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him.”

The actor will still appear in the second half of season two premiering December 15th and could return for parts of season three as the streaming giant writes him out. It’s not clear if another actor will be brought in to replace him in the role, or if a new character will fill the void.

As of Monday, a petition calling for Netflix to cancel “The Ranch” had earned support from more than 38,000 people. Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott co-star in the series.

“The Usual Suspects,” is also in the news today as in an interview with The Sunday Times (via Deadline) that its secondary star Gabriel Byrne has revealed its main star Kevin Spacey and his ‘inappropriate sexual behavior’ caused production to shut down on the film:

“I did not know honestly then the extent of his violence. I mean, he was kind of a joke in that people would say, ‘That’s Kevin,’ but nobody really understood the depth of his predations. It was only years later that we began to understand that [filming] was closed down for a particular reason and that was because of inappropriate sexual behavior by Spacey.”

Spacey of course is dealing with his own and much more serious issues with the actor being dropped from Netflix’s “House of Cards” recently.

Bryan Singer: Director denies raping 17-year-old boy

_99119601_gettyimages-529738076.jpg

Film director Bryan Singer has denied sexual assault after being sued for allegedly raping a 17-year-old boy.

According to court filings obtained by Deadline, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman has alleged he was sexually assaulted by the director on a yacht in 2003.

In a statement, a representative for Singer said the director "categorically denies these allegations".

It comes in the same week that Singer was fired as director of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.

The court filings say the alleged assault happened when Singer gave Sanchez-Guzman a tour of the boat.

"During this tour, Bryan Singer lured Cesar into a room, shut the door and demanded that Cesar perform oral sex. When plaintiff refused, Bryan Singer forced him into acts of oral and anal sex," the filing claims.

'Vehement' defence
Sanchez-Guzman is seeking compensation for damages including "emotional distress, mental anguish, physical and mental pain and suffering, a decrease in his ability to enjoy life" as well as past and future medical expenses and legal costs.

Singer's representative said: "Cesar Sanchez-Guzman apparently claims that he did not remember this alleged incident from 2003 until now."

He added: "Bryan categorically denies these allegations and will vehemently defend this lawsuit to the very end."

The representative said that, "once Bryan prevails", he will pursue claims for malicious prosecution.

Production of Bohemian Rhapsody was suspended last week.......

.......so Singer could deal with what his representative described as "a personal health matter concerning Bryan and his family".

Film studio Twentieth Century Fox told the BBC work had been halted "due to the unexpected unavailability" of Singer.

Days later, it emerged that he had been fired by the company for "unreliable behaviour", and has been replaced by Eddie The Eagle director Dexter Fletcher.

These guys are handling the interviews all wrong. As much as I hate Trump as a president, they should have learned something about public relations from the guy.

New Dustin Hoffman Misconduct Allegations

new-dustin-hoffman-misconduct-allegations-696x464.jpg

New allegations of sexual misconduct have been levelled against actor Dustin Hoffman in a new exclusive story in Variety.

The trade is reporting that three separate women have come forward with accusations including Cori Thomas who says she was a sixteen year old in high school when Dustin Hoffman exposed himself to her in a hotel room in 1980.

Another, Melissa Kester, alleges Hoffman sexually assaulted her while recording audio. Finally one other, asking to remain anonymous, says Hoffman “assaulted her in the back of a station wagon and manipulated her into a subsequent sexual encounter that left her traumatized”. In the latter two cases it was around the time of production of “Ishtar” and in both cases it involved allegedly unprovoked, undesired and unwarranted finger banging for a sustained period.

The report follows in the wake of three previous sexual-misconduct claims against the now 80-year-old actor. Hoffman’s attorney has called the new round accusations against the actor ‘defamatory falsehoods’.

The report comes as a new wave of misconduct cases have hit Hollywood this week with more allegations, including rape, levelled at music producer Russell Simmons by The New York Times and The L.A. Times. ABC fired “The Great American Baking Show” judge Johnny Iuzzini and axed the remaining episodes of his show amid sexual misconduct allegations from four former employees via Mic.com.

PBS has suspended its longtime late-night talkshow host Tavis Smiley after looking into “multiple, credible allegations of conduct that is inconsistent with the values and standards of PBS” reports Deadline.

Additionally Variety reports that documentary-maker Morgan Spurlock will step down from his production company after revealing on Twitter that when he was in college, he was accused of raping a female classmate, that he had settled an 8-year-old sexual harassment allegation at his office, and his frequent infidelities including being “unfaithful to every wife and girlfriend I have ever had.”

Surely just best to fire everyone in Hollywood and start all over again. This is like the death of a thousand cuts.

And the remakes are bound to accelerate now. No old film will be broadcastable as some fallen idol (now accused of being a predatory monster) or other will be starring in it. :emoji_confused:

I can't help but feel this barrage of accusations is uncannily timed to coincide with the big push to put more women in leading roles and in director's chairs. The accusations are about spooking advertisers to pull away from males to pave the way for more women. No one cares if Dustin Hoffman grabbed someone's ass in the 80's. Who hasn't had their ass grabbed.

Stan Lee is guilty of a lot of things (mostly getting rich off of the backs of talented artists who went through life poor, like Jack Kirby), but I'm not buying this one. Maybe I'm blinded by the fact that he's someone I've looked at as an icon for my entire life, but this reeks of people looking for a quick buck at an old man's expense.
