Great episode as McGoohan plays a double role. Originally he wanted both 6 and 12 to wear identical garb so even the audience couldn't tell them apart. But it was decided it would be too confusing for everyone. The only episode where rover is so named.
Anton Rodgers was a good number 2, and ITC stalwart Jane Merrow puts in a good performance as Alison, who betrays no.6 but then redeems herself. No.2 allowing 6 to board the helicopter at the end made for an exciting end, but also made sense as it allowed The prisoner to be so close to freedom and then having it taken away. An exercise in demoralization par excellence.
