Your thoughts on this movie.....

In Victorian London, a Scotland Yard inspector hunts down the sadistic killer behind a series of gory, Jack the Ripper-Like murders.

Promising... looks like we're in Ripper Street territory.
It's an Ayckroyd I haven't read yet, but I do like his stuff - Hawksmoor, Chatterton and Dr Dee were all great fun. HIs biography of Shakespeare, although he doesn't think it's fiction, is great fun and a feat of over-stretched imagination.

RLJ Entertainment has scored the U.S. rights to the Bill Nighy and Olivia Cooke-led period horror thriller “The Limehouse Golem”.

Penned by Jane Goldman (“X-Men: First Class,” “Kingsman: The Secret Service”), Nighy stars as Inspector John Kildare who has been assigned the case of a serial killer stalking Victorian London nearly a decade before Jack the Ripper.

He soon meets a young songstress (Olivia Cooke) sentenced to death for the murder of her husband, who may hold the secrets to solving the grisly mystery.

Douglas Booth, Sam Reid, and Eddie Marsan also star in the Juan Carlos Medina-directed film which will hit both theatrical and On Demand on September 8th, just a week after its UK release.
