The name can't be that fantastic... It's inaccurate.
I don't think it applies anymore either.
TWIN PEAKS is not a single season TV series.
Oh, boy... There we go again. Listen, you were not present when we discussed this until we were sick of it, and you didn't follow all the arguments back and forth, so I suggest you listen to me before you come to any conclusions, because this group has existed long before you joined, so there's a whole history you don']t know about.
Yes, the name is inaccurate, and I was one of the people to point that out, by the way. But I was in the minority, but I thought an election to choose a name would cheer up the group, so what the heck the inaccurate name stayed.
But it's not that inaccurate. You see, originally the group would watch only cancelled single season shows, so the name is an homage to the spirit of the group. We did an experiment back in 2012 with Night Gallery season 1, but it was an awful experience, so shows with multiple seasons were discarded. As the show that started everything was The Time Tunnel, and it had 30 episodes, we started to refer to the shows as "single season.shows" or "30 episodes or less" shows.
It turns out that some shows had two or even three seasons that did not surpass 30 episodes, so gradually we started admitting two or three season shows as long as they were 30 episodes or less. However, most shows were still sigle season, and it was because of that that the name would stick. Of course these changes occurred gradually along the years.
Finally we chose Twin Peaks. i nominated it because I was under the impression it was a cancelled show, I didn't know there were movies and I considered the 2017 show a sequel. But now in retrospect, I think the choice was not appropriate and we won't make this mistake in the future. Now in hindsight I can see that Twin Peaks is one big story that started in1990, continued in the movies and ended in the sequel/Season 3.
For the record, the name "IMDF Sages" has been used on public forums before.
It seems to be a reasonably logical choice under the circumstances, but if anyone wishes to discuss the matter further, they can contact me either in private or in public.
OK, this is getting a little surreal. Until yesterday I was organizing the group, and I can guarantee you that in no moment we referred to ourselves as IMDF Sages. I don't know if someone else has used it and I don't really care, because I practically started this group and if we had ever used that name for sure I would know it.
Then, yesterday I reclaimed the "Sages of the Single Season" name and, as my last act as coordinator, I renamed it Blake's Sages. Of course you can change that, but then I suggest an election should be held so everybody else is heard. You seem to have a good point for IMDF Sages, so I suggest you present it to the group with the same eloquence you presented it to me. And let the majority decide, as the majority decided last time (not with my particular Blake's wisecrack).
Well, as you've relinquished your leadership of the IMDF Sages and have asked Michael to assume command, it is now his responsibility to run the various view and review message boards that will be inhabited and used by his Sages.
I relinquished the coordination of the group in which Blake's 7 was being viewed, because I don']t know the show and I don't want to dedicate to to a group about long-running series. Well, if I'd known that I would be forced to leave the group I've led for several years, and there would be some sort of coup, I wouldn't have asked him, evidently.

I'm pretty confused now. You guys want to do Blake's 7, you do Blake's 7. You didn't even need me or my group. you guys could've organized something out of your Blake's 7 board. I've watched the pilot and I'm curious to see where this is going, but it's not my priority. You wanna do Star Cops as well? Fine, do it.
As for me, I've just finished Twin Peaks, Brimfin and I. Cloister also said he was interested in continuing after he dropped in the middle of Twin Peaks. My plan is to move on to the next single season show and continue as we were doing before, which I plan to do, unless you say I'm no longer welcome in this forum, in which case I'll leave. But I can't believe things could get to this point.
One more thing. Obviously the name "Sages" isn't copyrighted, and even copyright laws have never prevented theft, but from what's fair, the name Sages doesn't belong to you. It's part of my baggage which I'm sharing here, but if I can't organize the Star Cops board for some reason I'll move to another show and that will be the Sages.
If you feel that there's such an issue surrounding the practice of watching TV series that are comprised of more than one season, why did you watch TWIN PEAKS?
This has already been explained. 30 episodes or less. It's a whole process you didn't witness and know nothing about. Well, now you know a lot about it, actually, since I've explained this to you.
And exactly what is being changed? You've already viewed TV series that were science fiction in nature and you've already viewed TV series that are comprised of more than one season. So what's changed?
The original spirit of the group is watching CANCELLED SHOWS of 30 episodes or less. Not mega hits that lasted several seasons and were properly finished. What bothers me is that you have no idea what we were doing, all our history for over many years and yet you seem to want to draw final conclusions based on bits you got here and there.
You still seem to be incapable of grasping the fact that there is no other "board". We are all regulars of IMDF. There is no "them" and "us" - just "us"
The Blake's 7 fans seemed like a pretty uniform group to me, and you all massively voted for Blake's 7 and ignored the reality of our (dying I admit) group. That is, only cancelled shows. So, by doing Blake's 7, obviously it's a different thing. I don't know why you and I can']t both have the things that will give us pleasure.
This was supposed to be lighthearted fun, but now is beginning to look more like a hostile take-over.
