Emily Tiffin a powerful medium turns up at Motley Hall after her car crashes into a tree just outside, and Gudgin comes to her rescue .
She can see all the ghosts and wants to free them from their earthly existence. What the ghosts want is irrelevant to her.
Not a pleasant woman , who has a Red Indian called White Feather as her spirit guide, played by Tenniel Evans, Major Daley in Carnival of Monsters.
Bodkin foolishly agrees to take White Feather's place until sunset so he can go off to happy hunting ground, enraging Emily Tiffin who now takes Bodkin away with her.
Can the ghosts get him back? Good teamwork needed to make their plan succeed. Gudgin initially thinking Emily must be nuts to believe Motley is populated by spirits, is convinced by the end.
Sir George's attitude to White Feather is expected from a man of his era, a bit racist , calling him a painted savage, but White Feather does save the day, so respect is shown at the end. A serious situation in this episode, so not outrageously funny but entertaining.
