First Poster For Amazon’s “The Boys” Series

The first artwork has been released for Amazon’s upcoming original series “The Boys” based on the cult favorite comic of the same name. The poster recreates the iconic cover art of the graphic novel series, albeit with actual actors faces this time.

The story follows a CIA squad who closely monitor the superhero community as their celebrity status has corrupted them and led them to engage in reckless behavior compromising the world.

Karl Urban headlines as Billy Butcher, with Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother’s Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Jennifer Espositio as CIA agent Susan L. Rayner, and Karen Fukuhara as The Female. Elisabeth Shue, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Nathan Mitchell co-star.

“Supernatural” creator Eric Kripke and “Preacher” series creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are all executive producing the series which is set to debut sometime in 2019.

The Boys

“You’re The Worst” star Aya Cash is in talks to join a second season of Amazon’s superhero drama series “The Boys” in the gender-swapped key role of Stormfront. No official decision has been made on a second season as yet, but it seems things are being lined up for the possibility.

The story is set in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame. It revolves around a group of vigilantes who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty. In the comics, Stormfront is a Thor/Shazam amalgamation – incredibly powered but also an unrepentant bigot.
