Yet again Clint gets his pick of the young beauties in this film as an injured Yankee soldier who is hidden from the Confederate troopers by a group of women in a boarding school! But after upsetting the main woman (Geraldine Page) and falling foul of her discovers the lengths that she will go to punish him!
This is the best version, avoid the name stealing Farrell edition at all costs!

Long while since I have seen this one - and the remake with Colin Farrell has completely passed me by.

But I do remember the power of the ending.
