2008 Terminator Salvation incident

In July 2008, Bale flew into an angry tirade on the set of Terminator Salvation, while filming in New Mexico. In February 2009, the audio recording of the incident was released. The tirade was directed at Shane Hurlbut, director of photography for the film. According to Bale, Hurlbut had, for the second time, ruined his concentration by walking onto the set during a scene. The recording is of Bale directing profanities at Hurlbut, threatening and belittling him, and finally threatening to quit the film if Hurlbut repeated the offense without being fired for it. It was reported that Warner film executives sent the tape to the insurer of the film in case Bale decided to quit the movie.

In an interview with E! Online, assistant director and producer of Terminator Salvation, Bruce Franklin, said it was an isolated incident. "If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove ... It was the most emotional scene in the movie ... and for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn't walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed", Franklin said.

Actors Whoopi Goldberg and Terry Crews, directors Darren Aronofsky and Ron Howard, as well as Ain't It Cool News website creator Harry Knowles[76] have also publicly defended Bale's actions, some of them citing the practice that crew members are to remain still while the camera is rolling. The incident also inspired experimental band The Mae Shito write the song, "R U Professional", which features samples from the recording;[77] similarly, Lucian Piane's remix "Bale Out" is composed almost entirely of audio from the incident. Stephen Colbert parodied the incident on the 4 February 2009 episode of The Colbert Report, in which guest Steve Martin repeatedly walked in front of the camera and was berated by Colbert.[78] The incident was re-enacted on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, with Inside the Actor's Studio host James Lipton giving performances of both Bale and the crew member.[79] The "Oh, goooood for you!" sound bite has become a regular drop from Fred Norris of The Howard Stern Show.[80] An episode of the animated comedy series Family Guy also mixed in the voice of Peter Griffin interacting with Bale and reacting to Bale's comments as if they were directed at him to comedic effect.

After remaining silent for most of the week, Bale made a public apology on 6 February 2009, to a Los Angeles radio station, KROQ, stating that the outburst was "inexcusable" and was motivated by the intensity of that day's shooting. Bale said he "acted like a punk", and that he and Hurlbut talked after the incident and "resolved this completely".[82] Bale acknowledged that the two worked together for several hours after the incident, and "at least a month after that... I've seen a rough cut of the movie and he has done a wonderful job. It looks fantastic."

Of course, I don't seriously think the Bale Rant is part of any curse - although others have tried to claim such a thing exists.

But I do find his Terminator Salvation co-stars trying to excuse his rant by gushing over his credentials as a man and a "professional actor" is somewhat sickening.

Wow, looking at the lives of the various John Connor actors, maybe Skynet had a good reason to want to terminate him.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed that the new “Terminator” movie is officially set to begin production this summer.

Speaking with TheArnoldFans in a new interview that comes three years after the much-maligned “Terminator Genisys” hit cinemas, the actor says:

“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”

Linda Hamilton will also return to the franchise in the film which is set to arrive in cinemas on July 26th 2019.

I'd read that the last trilogy of films was out because they had to complete work on them before 2019 and that they hadn't even started work on the second one!!!

mackenzie-davis-to-lead-new-terminator-696x464.jpg

Mackenzie Davis (“Halt and Catch Fire,” “The Martian”) has scored the lead role in Skydance’s new “Terminator” film from director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron.

The new film starts a new trilogy and serves as a direct sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day”. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton return to the franchise which will mark the most involved Cameron has been in the series since T2.

Davis, who recently played an android in “Blade Runner 2049,” was originally eyed to portray Domino in the “Deadpool” sequel. She will take on the lead human role which is expected to carry on the narrative in subsequent sequels.

Billy Ray (“The Hunger Games”) wrote the most recent draft of the script, which was conceived by Cameron, Miller and Ellison. Filming kicks off this Summer ahead of a July 26th 2019 release.

The new “Terminator” film has been moved back by four months and will now open on November 22nd 2019.

The James Cameron produced, Tim Miller directed film was originally slated to open July 26th next year, but the delay has been expected for some time – even before word broke about Arnold Schwarzenegger’s heart surgery last week.

Schwarzenegger, who is reprising his role, has previously mentioned filming begins this summer in Spain. Skydance is co-financing and producing the project.

As part of 20th Century Fox’s CinemaCon presentation this week, brochures were handed out and on-screen graphics were seen which showcased some of the title artwork for numerous releases.

These include the upcoming “X-Men” sequel and the new “Terminator” film in the works for next year, and the artwork would seem to confirm both film’s official new titles at this point in time – “Dark Phoenix” and “Terminator”.

“Terminator” Off-Set Pics Tease The Connors

Some photos posted on social media from the set of the new “Terminator” have offered glimpses at both the older Sarah Connor and the young John Connor in this new entry in the franchise.

Linda Hamilton reprises her role for the new film and is sporting a new blonde hairdo. Jude Collie is stepping into the role of a young John Connor in the film, but will serve as a CGI stand-in which suggests the character will probably get a facial makeover in post-production. Similarly Brett Azar will serve as the stand-in for Schwarzenegger’s T-800.

The film is reportedly a direct sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” that will introduce new characters to pass the baton to, featuring a young woman (Mackenzie Davis) as the main character with supporting characters from both the past and the future.

Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes, and Diego Boneta co-star in the film which James Cameron will produce and Tim Miller is slated to direct. David S. Goyer, Charles Eglee and Josh Friedman developed the script. Filming is now underway in several locations, including Budapest, Hungary, and Spain.

The new “Terminator” hits cinemas on November 22nd 2019.

I love the concept of the Terminator a lot but I am a sucker for time travel movies and I love horror movies especially Slashers so the first Terminator is sort of a hybrid (a cyborg if you will) of those genres.
I'm not interested in seeing the war against the machines so for me Salvation was the least interesting.
I was enjoying Genisys up to when they time travel. I really liked seeing another T-1000 and how they dealt with it. After that the film takes a nosedive.

I know it could be seen as more of the same, but for me I want an unstoppable Terminator, modern day so it is hard to kill and help isn't readily available. Maybe a new model of Terminator would be cool.
I guess they could continue the franchise by revealing that they have delayed Judgement Day long enough that John Connor no longer leads the resistance. Perhaps Skynet doesn't know who is the leader now so is sending back multiple terminators to lie in wait for who might become the most likely target.
I could see some value in that, who is a terminator, how do you prepare for Judgement Day when you could already be infiltrated.

I once wrote out an idea for a story in that universe where a Terminator was sent back too far due to a glitch, and had to adapt to living with paleolithic man. It lives out its runtime adapting to being a caveman, and eventually is buried in a cave, only to be discovered later on. If anything, it would have made for a cool explanation for how Skynet comes across the CPU.
