Jim Kerr's Simple Minds, started off as a very arty weird Indy band, with some inventive early albums. Empires and Dance particularly good and a eclectic mix of new wave and heavy guitars. The New Gold Dream release was the breakthrough with the hit " Promised You A Miracle". It was upwards from then on with Street Fighting Years and Belfast Child as they moved into almost U2 territory..
Then a slow decline. The albums Real Life and Good News were decent stuff , but Neopolis was an album that didn't really work IMO. The recent Black and White, and Big Music albums are excellent but a return to big hits is unlikely. This is a track from the Good News from The Next World album "She's A River"
