After the events of the Westminster attack, and the death of a police officer, there are some who are bringing this up again.
It should be noted that the terrorist was shot by Michael Fallon's (defence secretary) security who happened to be there. Whether the police officer being armed would have saved his life or not is unknown as he may have been stabbed suddenly without warning (a gun wouldn't have helped him... and may have made things worse if the terrorist had taken his gun).
Anyway, what do you think?
I say no. I like walking down the street knowing the police can't shoot me because their wife just cheated on them. An armed response unit is adequate.
