Polished but unnecessary remake of the 1954 Billy Wilder hit romance which, predictably, suffers in comparison. Julia Ormond is given the unenviable task of following Audrey Hepburn but her modern portrait of a woman of the 1990s is quite commendable. Unfortunately the chemistry between herself and Ford is zero, leaving it to Greg Kinnear (in his film debut) to provide the film with some much needed fizz.
