The Age of Shadows (2016)
Japanese agents close in as members of the Korean resistance plan an attack in 1920's Seoul. After the very disappointing The Last Stand, Jee-woon Kim is back to his old form with another great South Korean film in his career.
It's very intense and bloody and it has great action sequences and cinematography. It had, for me, everything that was missing in Army of Shadows. The cast includes some of the best South Korean actors working today such as Kang-ho Song and Byung-hun Lee.
This was South Korea's official submission for the Best Foreign Language Oscar of 2016
