.... and were condemned to stay in a past time and place, whether distant or recent, for the rest of your days.....

Where would you settle - and why?

Hollywood in it's heyday. Then I would be an unobtrusive film extra in loads of films that my earlier self had owned on dvd, never realising that I was actually watching myself, tucked away in the background on a lot of them.

Earth in it's heyday [IMG] Probably before humans started to destroy the planet.

Ditto except I wouldn't want to have to keep staying there, it'd be okay if time moved on from there and I could make a few different decisions........

In the 70's. A lot of my favourite bands/artist started somewhere in the 70's, so I have a lot of concerts to go to :)

I'm with you. Also, I would love to meet so many of the people who filled my life with such joy. Karloff, Lugosi, Fairbanks, Chaplin, Keaton, and so many more.

And we could finally find out if London After Midnight actually holds up to the legend of it. I hope we're not disappointed.

Would it be wrong to use time travel purely to have sex with actresses in their prime?

    Bridgette Bardot (1955)
    Marilyn Monroe (1955)
    Jane Fonda (1965)
    Raquel Welch (1970)
    Kim Wilde (1984)
    Sharon Stone (1990)

    Etc etc

Cleopatra looks hot in those hieroglyphs.

I'm probably the only person in history who would use time travel for such unworthy reasons.

As long as it doesn't alter history I guess.... :emoji_alien::emoji_confused:

I couldn't really be doing with jumping through the Guardian of Forever to bring back Hux who's out to "rescue" Joan Collins or anything! :emoji_alien:

This reminds me of Shep Houghton, a film extra who has appeared in a vast number of classics. There's even a Youtube account that has uploaded the scenes in which he shows up.

    Topper (1937)
    Ziegfield Girl (1941)
    The Big Sleep (1946)
    Some Like It Hot (1959)
    Hello Dolly! (1969)

Other classics that he's been in include The Last Command (1928), Flying Down to Rio (1933), Cleopatra (1934), A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935), The Wizard of Oz (1939), Gone With the Wind (1939), To Be or Not to Be (1942), Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Julius Caesar (1953), Around the World in Eighty Days (1956), Jailhouse Rock (1957), Imitation of Life (1959), Inherit the Wind (1960), Judgement at Nuremberg (1961) & Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971)

The coolest part? Shep is still alive at age 100+ and could easily watch himself on DVD in all these great films today should he want to. Here is an interesting read for those who are interested.

It's remarkable how little Raquel has aged in the last 50 years. :o It almost renders a time travel pointless (with emphasis on "almost", as I'd still make the trip).

Funny, just watched the last episode of Timeless last night - hope it comes back for a second series and really Gets Its Act Together next time...
However - me to Shakespeare's London 1598-99 (he's writing Henry V, which I'm lecturing on next week) but also planning the big move across the river to his new Globe Theatre. I'd sink a few pints with him of course, nip out of town to the undeveloped fields of Islington where I once had a very nice flat and buy up that neglected land 220 years before the house was built where the flat would one day be... but mainly, I'd have to ask Shakespeare the question that's been bugging me for a long, long time: "Mate, is it true about demolishing your playhouse and hauling the timbers across the frosty Thames over Christmas because of a spot of bother with the landlord, OR - were you just pig sick of fanboys interrupting you in your local to ask if Merry Wives of Windsor was canon?"
Then a quick appointment with Dr Dee who could doubtless get me safe home again for a percentage of my investment tips...and he could provide an introduction to Walter Raleigh, who was, according to rumour, a bit of a flirt - I'd like to check him out while I was in the area.
