This episode sees Catweazle confused by twins. Professor Habbleman, the Germanic expert on toads, and his brother, both equally dotty.
Now, SHOULD Catweazle be flummoxed by twins? Possibly yes. In 1066 I imagine twin births were rarely successful, either one or both babies died, so we can forgive Cat's perplexity.
As Lord Collingford wearily asks Cedric,
" what is this all about Cedric?"
" er..toads"
Touchwood is the eye of the story, hooray! 'bout time !
The poor creature is sick and Habbleman can help. Unfortunately on examining our reptilian hero Habbleman realises that Touchwood is an extinct toad and must be captured and exhibited!
Cedric must rescue the toad.
Habbleman proud of his publications on toads hands Cat a book , published by Scorpion books. Another sign of the Zodiac collected by Catweazle. Okay another coincidence, but a fine episode nevertheless, John Ringham excellent as both Habblemans.
Who is John Ringham? Instantly recognisable from comedies of the era.
