    Fun Star Trek: Discovery (2017)

So I finally finished season 1. Just as I started to enjoy it, it went a little downhill again. Once they escaped the mirror universe the final couple of episodes felt like bit of a let down. The finale I found very disappointing. The idea that the title ship's crew defies Starfleet's orders and...

    Review Ant-Man & the Wasp (2018)

Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I'm struggling to understand why Marvel even bothers with trailers any more. Surely they could just do a 5 second ad with the title and release date and people would flock to see the movie.

Review Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)

I suspect that this will be the first Star Wars movie I haven't seen at the cinema. Unless it gets some exceptional word of mouth once its released, then I might change my mind. But given limited finances and a fair number of other movies I'm actually interested in it's unlikely.

    Fun Star Trek: Discovery (2017)

That's a great theory and that's how I'm going to accept the show. Star Trek but from a drastically altered timeline. No need for the continuity to match up that way.

    Fun Star Trek: Discovery (2017)

So I've made it up to episode 12 now and I have to say, this show is growing on me. It's still not Star Trek but, watching it as a standalone sci-fi adventure series, I'm finding that I'm starting to enjoy it. The story is intriguing and well acted and the effects are gorgeous. Where the show...

Review Ghostbusters: Answer the Call (2016)

If women are being inspired by seeing the science that the women in this movie did, then I fear for the future of science. I suspect the fact that it was a pretty bad movie didn't help it either.

    Review Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

I'm amazed that, with all the characters and action scenes in this movie, they still managed to have a coherent plot and some quiet character moments. Absolutely worth the money. The only downside is that we've got a whole year to wait for the next part.

Controversial Poor Old Jar Jar: Is All the Hatred Warranted?

Only if its in a scene where he's painfully tortured to death.

Fun Your Favourite Books & Authors!

That was the problem with a lot of the Star Trek books. Many of them come across as badly written fan fiction with no real understanding of the characters. Although there are a few that were quite good.

    Review BLAKE'S 7: DUEL - Episode 08

Well it's a pretty ordinary human that can't drink a dalek under the table.

    Review BLAKE'S 7: DUEL - Episode 08

It seems to have been a common issue among BBC sci-fi writers in that era. I don't think they were completely clear on the differences between galaxies, constellations, and solar systems. Remember in The Daleks Master Plan when the Daleks created an alliance of multiple galaxies to take on one...

    Fun Marvel Shared Universe

Thank's @Doctor Omega for your list. While I don't agree with all of your placements, its well thought out and explained. I might have to respond with my own list after I've seen Infinity War tomorrow. And in the meantime (not as a criticism but just because the OCD part of my brain can't...

If that happens, take the trophy and run. None of this "giving it back to the rightful winner" shit!

    Review BLAKE'S 7: BREAKDOWN - Episode 10

I have to say I have mixed feelings about this episode. There are a lot of good elements but they just don't seem to come together well for me. I was excited to see that Gan (who has been woefully underused so far) was getting a "day in the limelight" episode, but it turned out that he didn't...

If you write the lyrics and I'm happy to do the score :emoji_relaxed: Might be a bit of a challenge convincing anyone to stage it for us though.

    Review Man of Steel (2013)

I certainly hope so. In Justice League we finally got to see what a real Superman could be like with Henry Cavill in the role and I for one would definitely like to see more of that.

    Fun The Trek Franchise!

Depends on whether they're actually Star Trek films or just generic action adventure sci-fi movies using the Star Trek brand to publicise them.

    Review BLAKE'S 7: PROJECT AVALON - Episode 09

Another one I remember from the novelisation. Which unfortunately means there were no surprises in this episode. But I imagine seeing this for the first time would have been fascinating. And I doubt I'd have worked out in advance who the mole was. Good to see more of the crew involved this week...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: DUEL - Episode 08

This was one of the episodes I came into with prior memory of seeing. It's probably stuck in my brain because it's also one of the episodes that I've got the novelisation of. It's a bit of a cliched plot. Enemies forced to fight in single combat representing their people. Star Trek did it in...

    Review Lost in Space (2018)

If television with advertising continues long enough (as opposed to streaming with fees) I imagine we'll get to the point where its 40 minutes of ads for every 20 minutes of show.
