Very good but short lived comedy with a great cast of Geoffrey Palmer and the wonderful Robert Hardy about a fictitious red top newspaper, written by top team of David Renwick and Andy Marshall.

After years appearing as guests in other series Robert Gillespie got a series especially written for him by Brian Cooke, of George and Mildred fame.

You couldn't really go wrong with this comedy. Two stalwarts of British stage and television, Donald Sinden and Windsor Davies as rival antique dealers at each others throats.

What you think of this largely depends on what you think of Peggy Mount's bravura performance. It's LOUD. But Pat Coombs as Ms Lupin steals the show. I never knew she was that good an actress. Nice to see Diana King , a bit part actress in so many shows getting a good recurring role in this.

Often derided and criticised as being too safe and middle class, but I've always found Terry Scott and June Whitfield's series a pleasant way to spend a half hour. Happy Ever After was IMO slightly better than the later series ,but both enjoyable.

Are they still funny? Were they ever? Mmm bit unfair, I've been watching them lately, some of it still creases me up in laughter. Who can forget Kitten Kong or Eckythump.

Victor Meldew , are you a fan? Just started watching this , got to say I'm enjoying it. Next door neighbour Angus Deayton is a laugh. Richard Wilson is good as well . Just reached the episode where about 200 garden gnomes have been dumped in his garden. Very funny.

Doomwatch really is something that you should beg borrow steal, or buy to see. It's amazing series of Sci fi brilliance created by Cybermen creators Kit Pedlar and Gerry Davis.

Top of my list of non Dr Who wanna see missing stuff has got to be Series 1 and2 of Ace Of Wands. Also B+W Callan episodes, and there's six episodes of Eric Chappell ( Rising Damp) comedy The Squirrels that I'd like to see. Also Doomwatch, the final episode of series One is missing where Toby...
