The tv series were great too. Anarchic fun. Not too much else to say really, you either find it side splitting or childish.

    Review S01E06- A Feasible Solution

A much less complex episode than most with lots of action. Burnside would love to send Willie some help, official SAS help maybe, but this vetoed by the powers that be. It's up to Willie and *Jill* or whoever she really is. They machine gun their way in to the sanatorium, terrorists returning...

    Review S01E06- A Feasible Solution

A British scientist, Colby, a specialist in rocket guidance, and a Russian, Yugarov, a specialist in missile propulsion are kidnapped in Cyprus. Someone wants to be build a missile or two but who? Considering the huge problem in smuggling missiles out of anywhere Burnside thinks it may be the...

Review RED DWARF: "FUTURE ECHOES" - Episode 02

I agree about season 7 and 8 Seven started okay, but it just wasn't the same without Rimmer. Chloe Annett was good, and having Kochanski aboard was OK too, but it simply wasn't funny enough, though the episode Epideme was good . Season 8 was a real low for me. The idea was probably cool on paper...

    Review Citizen Smith

Robert Lindsay in John Sullivan comedy about a left wing activist and his band of misfits trying to start a revolution in London. Sullivan went on to write Only Fools and Horses. This was a very funny show.

    Review Brush Strokes '86-'91

BBC comedy series with Karl Howman as cheeky Londoner Jacko, painter and decorator. Very popular series written by Good Life team of Larbey and Esmonde. Bit dated but quite funny.

Review S01E05- Always Glad To Help

Burnside is given just a few days to check Hamed out by 'C' under pressure from the government. Laura Dickens is ordered to get close and personal with Hamed to find out what she can. Laura overturns her speeding car right in front of Hamed's Rolls Royce, nice driving by the stunt driver for...

Review S01E05- Always Glad To Help

Burnside has a meeting with the Chief of the Admiralty who wants him to use The Special Projects Team (SPT) to check on a Russian ship, The Karaganda, at port in Brest, to see if it has an underwater hatch that might be used by divers on espionage missions.. The SPT are not agents as such , but...

The Catweazle ep 26 thread is locked so no one can use them including me . It was locked after I posted on there. These Doc threads will be here long after The Sages have departed and the idea is they're for Catweazle chat, so yes I think your threads should continue, I posted on ep3 today...

Review DISCUSSION- CATWEAZLE: CURSE OF RAPKYN - Episode 03

Excellent point about JEANNIE, I like that show, and we do readily accept its premise about genies being real for the sake of enjoying the show. However we don't think that it's set in an alternative universe, but our one, which contains something magical. As Shakespeare had Hamlet say " there...

Review DISCUSSION- CATWEAZLE: CURSE OF RAPKYN - Episode 03

I've never seen the Wallace and Gromitt films, but I did realise Sallis was Wallace. Of course Clegg from Last Of the Summer Wine is his bravura role, and of course he appeared in The Ice Warriors. Also he was due to play Striker in the Davison story Enlightenment, which would have been...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: BOUNTY - Episode 11

Yes Jenna aimed a kick at the unmentionables and down they went. In the universe of B7 there are no aliens as such, not yet anyway , so perhaps a colony originally from an Arabic community on Earth set off to settle on an alien world, and centuries later, here they are. This is in two parts...

    Review BLAKE'S 7: BOUNTY - Episode 11

Like the review, surprised you like it, I'm obviously in a minority at the moment. T.P. McKenna is good, I've always liked him, best known in Britain for his role as Russian spy Richmond in Callan playing opposite Edward Woodward. The Jenna betrayal thread was good, I don't think any of the crew...

Review DISCUSSION- CATWEAZLE: THE ENCHANTED KING - Episode 20

Doc, I'll review this when you have reached this point of course, but something of interest I'll reveal now, keep you intrigued. Carpenter visited the set while filming this episode and was shocked at the changes made to his script. He was a young writer and felt powerless to stop what was...

    Review Spooks/MI5 (2002)

Spooks is basically a modern version of Callan, dealing with Mi5. I saw the first two series and thought them quite poor. Not a patch on Callan , and certainly not in the same league as The Sandbaggers, a show I'm running through again over the next month.

Review S01e03 - Is Your Journey Really Necessary ( upgraded version)

Roy Marsden, Ray Lonnen ,Jerome Willis, Diane Keen, Richard Vernon, Alan Macnaughtan and not forgetting Elizabeth Bennett as Diane Burnside's tolerant secretary.

Review S01e03 - Is Your Journey Really Necessary ( upgraded version)

Burnside and Wellingham ( Alan Macnaughtan) , both slippery customers with their own agendas. Also valuable allies ,when they can trust each other.
