    Fun Amicus Productions

And let us not forget that it was Amicus that first thought of doing an updated version of Frankenstein in the fifties and botched the deal leaving Hammer to move in and sign the deal and give us over twenty years of great horror films! JB

I've got the Doctor Terror and Vault of Horror books from a now defunct sci-fi shop in Leicester! There used to be a few of those type of shops up there, now they're all long gone! JB

I remember seeing this set about fifteen years ago and never realised it would be such a collectors item! Wish now that I'd bought it! JB

Review The Robinsons: Lost in Space (2004)

Neither have I! Wonder why? I'll have to watch it sometime soon before the new version turns up on Netflix! But neither will be as great as the original I'm sure! JB

    Controversial Count of St. Germain

My wife first told me about Count Saint Germain! But I must have heard of him before because I saw all of the In Search of episodes with Leonard Nimoy back in the seventies... JB

    Review Series 11 (2018)

The Myrka and the loose flap at the back of one of the Silurians took away the greatness this one could have had! Strange isn't it that only Barry Letts in the entire history of Doctor Who could produce a credible Silurian story or two! JB

    Review Series 11 (2018)

Well maybe, but I would have thought that a publicity hungry producer of JNTs ilk would have promoted the old baddies for the twentieth series rather than the twenty first, which seemed to be a better rounded bunch of stories for me anyway! JB

    Fun The James Bond Movies!

I always think of Doctor Who in those terms too! The Old Man steals the TARDIS and escapes from Gallifrey! The Hobo gets caught and stands trial for it! The Dandy serves the sentence and is eventually pardoned for it! The Bohemian is allowed to continue his adventures without probation! JB

    Review Series 11 (2018)

I never heard the rumour about the Ice Warriors in Terminus funnily enough, but I suspected that they would turn up in it! I don't know why, it just seemed the ideal place for them to be considering we were told that in each story of the twentieth series there would be an element from the...

    Review Series 11 (2018)

I remember some of the rumours from earlier series of Nu-Who! Like Paul McGann was going to turn up during the End of Time during the Time War segments! Also that Sylvester and McGann and maybe Ecclestone were going to turn up during The Stolen Earth and help Tennant defeat Davros!!! The ones I...

    Fun The James Bond Movies!

I think if they had of gone ahead with Goldfinger's brother then the franchise would have failed miserably! The fact that Goldfinger made them the most money must have been a factor in that silly idea of resurrecting the character! Hell they were even planning to hire an American actor for...

    Review Series 11 (2018)

Sounds like desperate tactics to me! But from my perspective no actor can ever beat the original four Doctors Who! I'm certainly more interested in finding old Troughton episodes and than anything to do with New Who, Capaldi or Whitaker!! JB

    Review Battlestar Galactica (1978)

The only part of the reboot that I liked and they sort of ignored after was where a few of the crew suddenly realised that they were Cylons! I was kind of spooked by it and thought now this is new! The original provided us with classic model work and special effects and single episodes based on...

    Review Battlestar Galactica (1978)

True. But a lot of people are still fans of the original which was cut short after a season and a half! I wouldn't rewatch the reboot despite people saying it was much better! For me I liked the model work and the better looking Cylons and their pursuit of the rag tag fleet! (Number six was...

    Review Wacky Races (1968)

I used to love that show as a kid! I bought the DVD set for the kids when it came out but they never watch it these days I'm sad to say! Wasn't too keen on Pigeon or Penelope's own shows though! JB

    Review The Tripods (1984)

Shame that old Jim didn't do any other acting work as he's the only one of the three main actors that still has any interest in the show and he was missing from much of the second series!!! JB

    Review Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

I'd read that the last trilogy of films was out because they had to complete work on them before 2019 and that they hadn't even started work on the second one!!! JB

    Review Blake's 7 (1978)

I never saw the final episode of that show! My girlfriend at the time insisted on taping it for me and we split up the weekend that I would have seen the last one!! I remember there was a four part series before it which had the same main character but it wasn't really a sci-fi concept! JB
