    Review Urban Legends

This is a thread where people can discuss urban legends. Which ones are true? Which ones are not true? I have shown interest in the Hanging Munchkin urban legend for awhile. Here are my videos on it:

    Review Peter Rabbit (2018)

I am shaking my head at everything in that trailer. It's awful.

Why couldn't I resist hitting "play" on that? Ah, childhood memories.

    Review Peter Rabbit (2018)

I still think the best adaptation of the story is "The Tale of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny" from 1992. It's probably the best you could ever ask for. This new movie is undoubtedly going to suck. I have my thoughts on it on my blog here...

    Controversial Political Correctness

I don't know of any of you have seen the 1995 movie version of "A Little Princess" (which I actually prefer over the book, having watched it as a kid), but that has a bit of politically correct casting. The book takes place in the late 1800's, and Sarah and her father live in India (despite...

    Review Stand By Me (1986)

I obtained a copy about a month ago. Still a really good movie.

    Controversial Political Correctness

I'd just point out that there have been a lot of politically correct casting choices that have been praised. For instance, Samuel L Jackson played Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and most people consider it one of the best casting decisions ever.

    Review Shazam (2019)

LOL. When I saw the topic title, at first I thought this was going to be about the Sinbad genie movie that so many people claim existed. Haha. I forgot about the other Shazam.

Review Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000)

Because of the cuts, many key scenes that gave Britt Allcroft's original story substance and were filmed with Peter Fonda as Burnett Stone and Russell Means as Billy Twofeathers plus Cody McMains as Patch, were not in the released version because of the references to P.T. Boomer. The movie...

    Fun Nutcracker Project Help

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right area of the forum to post this, so I've made a good educated guess, and if it turns out I guessed wrong, hopefully the mods here will help to move it into the right section (or remove it entirely, if there is no proper place for it). Thanks to everyone...

Review Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

If anyone is interested, my brother and I did a commentary on this movie recently. We couldn't actually show the entire movie because of copyright infringement, so you have to play your own copy simultaneously, and the video provides clips every ten minutes or so to make sure you are synced up...

    Review Freaky Friday (2003)

Probably one of the few remakes that I liked just as much as the original (though the 1995 version is my favorite, and I haven't seen the 1978 version in years).

    Review Peter Pan (2003)

Haha. Yeah that part was pretty silly. It felt more like it belonged in the Disney version than in this version. I also wish that the deleted scene where grown-up Wendy allows her daughter to go to Neverland with Peter had been kept in the movie, as it shows that even as an adult Wendy hasn't...

    Fun Film & TV Soundtracks

The score for Young Sherlock Holmes is pretty good. I seriously wish that movie was canon with the original Arthur Conan Doyle's books, but the very first story (A Study in Scarlet) prevents that from being a thing. Sad, because this feels like a very plausible origin story.

    Review The Amazing Spider-man (2012)

As a huge fan of Amazing Fantasy 15, I don't mind seeing the origin story adapted again and again. I can understand why some people would have a problem with that, but it honestly was never a problem for me. I enjoyed this movie a lot. It was clever. And it was a nice alternative take on...
