We will not see the man we loved from before, because these twats don't have the skills, talent or knowledge needed to do that character justice by taking the time and effort to write him properly.

So they'll just throw any old shit at the wall and see what sticks. Rather like a cage full of chimpanzees with typewriters at the local zoo.

Just don't expect to see the works of William Shakespeare any time soon.

It is not without its charm or possibilities...

However, considering the era in which we live, I shall resist the urge to expect or hope for too much.

I don't mean to sound gloomy or negative, but I've danced this dance before.

Oh, it'll almost certainly be crap. The only saving grace will be PS and cameos from other past characters.

Unfortunately, this will ultimately only serve to remind us of how good STAR TREK used to be.

Of course, I could be wrong. :emoji_nerd:

Yeah, I agree. Think the jury's out on this one until the show has aired.

There are promising glimpses, such as "What the hell are you doing out here, Picard?"

But the mysterious girl/central character is striking me as a bit too much like Rey off STAR WARS. She is gonna kick everyone's ass and is a deadly weapon to be harnessed in yawn-er-ama. We've seen it all before.

Don't go much on the idea of this whole series being a riff on LOGAN either.

LOGAN'S RUN, I would have been fine with. But not the world-weary character of LOGAN whose best days are behind him and he only has decline, decay and death to look forward to.

Sounds like they have worthied all the fun out of this thing, I suspect - and it's all Patrick's fault for not wanting to do "STAR TREK TNG: Part II".
