This was a very interesting younger viewers Sci fi series.
Two young kids can sense a time barrier and relive past events at a second world war naval base overrun with Nazis. In a well put together six episode opener, while on vacation with parents Liz and Simon stumble into a deserted naval base and vanish and end up in 1940. There they meet Commander Traynor who they've already met 30 years later at the hotel they're staying at with their parents, so previously in their time line.
Dennis Quilley stars as the two Traynors. Add to this the fact that the mother is psychic and Traynor uses this to communicate with the kids in the past to find out if his earlier self successfully carried out a mission with the help of Liz's father, a young man at the base in 1940. Phew! Confused?
The second six episodes, the kids end up in an alternative future in the Arctic, then eight episodes in a future Britain turned into a jungle by climate catastrophes, and finally a six part story, where it all climaxes as a twist regarding Traynor is revealed.

I recently watched the Carlton DVD set (Last year after having it on the shelf for over ten years but I do remember being an avid fan back in the early seventies and also having watched the videos in the nineties) and wondered if I should have just bought the Network set! But then I found out the Network set has had no work done on it at all so better to keep the older set!
My favourite story has to be Day of The Clone with it's weird R1 centre and Traynor's secret being revealed at last! The episodes with Devereux and Traynor were extremely good. Shame they never made a sequel...
Strangely enough I read the novel a few weeks back too and I've had that since the late nineties I believe!

Somehow I missed this back in April but I loved it after seeing it! Obviously it's on the Network set (which I haven't got) although it must have been recorded a long time back because Ian Fairbairn was in it and i'm sure he's been dead for at least five years!
HaHaHa Spencer Banks seems to remind me of Neil Tennant these days too! :emoji_grimacing:

I always thought it odd that they didn't include the b/w episode of Ice Box #6 as well as the colour one for us completists!
