Yeah, take your time Danny, no rush.

Unless somebody more eager wants to volunteer in the meantime? :emoji_confused:

Boyle Plans “Bond 25” Shoot Late 2018

boyle-plans-bond-25-shoot-late-2018-696x464.jpg

After much talk, Danny Boyle has now seemingly confirmed that he will direct the next James Bond film and plans to start shooting later this year for MGM and EON.

For a while now rumors have been that Boyle had come up with a great take that producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson loved. His involvement though was in question due to a new film with a script by Richard Curtis which has taken priority.

Now, according to Boyle at a screening of his new FX series “Trust” this week, he’s finishing up work on the Bond script, will then do the Curtis film and then begin shooting Bond at the end of the year. He tells Metro US:

“We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.”

We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”

Expected to be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as Bond, the movie is targeting a late 2019 release.

Craig & Harris Talk “Bond 25” Schedule

Speaking with the Associated Press this week, actor Daniel Craig has confirmed that his next film will indeed be the next James Bond movie as previously rumored.

At last report, Danny Boyle is slated to direct, pending script approval, and is targeting a late 2018 start to begin production. Craig confirmed his return with a “yeah” but when asked to confirm Boyle’s involvement he responded: “We’ll see, we’ll see.”

Meanwhile Naomie Harris, who played Miss Moneypenny in both “Skyfall” and “Spectre,” revealed on “The Graham Norton Show” this week that she still hasn’t been told if her character will return for the upcoming film:

“I know nothing. I don’t know if I am in it, but I do know they start shooting at the end of the year. I have cleared my diary in anticipation but I don’t know.”

The next Bond film is currently targeting a November 2019 release.

Whishaw Talks Bond 25, “Paddington 3”

Out doing press rounds for BBC One’s “A Very English Scandal,” actor Ben Whishaw revealed he is strongly expecting to reprise his role as Q in the next entry in the James Bond franchise.

The new film would mark Whishaw’s third go in the role following his debut in “Skyfall”. The project is Daniel Craig’s fifth film in the James Bond role and widely expected to be his last go in the role.

Whishaw tells THR: “I believe I’m contracted to be in it. That’s as much as I know.” He was also asked about the hiring of Danny Boyle as director to which he said: “I was thrilled when I read that he was going to be doing it. I can’t think of a better, more exciting director for Daniel for the way that he’s taken the character. I think it’ll be really exciting to work with him. I’ve been such a big fan.”

Whishaw is also known as the voice of Paddington Bear in the celebrated two films and says that he’s unsure whether there’ll be a third one despite calls for it: “It’s a tremendous amount of work that goes into those films, so I’m not sure if it will happen. Or, if it does, I’m not sure when it will happen.”

What will director Danny Boyle bring to James Bond?

It's an official secret no more: Danny Boyle is to direct the next James Bond film.

Set for release in October 2019, it marks the 25th instalment in the franchise - the first since 2015's Spectre,

The film, which is yet to be given a title, reunites Oscar-winning director Boyle with Craig for the first time since Bond's spoof London 2012 cameo.

But this, Craig's fifth official mission as Bond, is no laughing matter.

Will it be a case of Bond, same Bond, or will 007, in these changing times, find his Martini both shaken and stirred?

Bonham Carter Rumored For “Bond 25” Villain

bonham-carter-rumored-for-bond-25-villain-696x464.jpg

The British trades lover their James Bond rumors and, on occasion, they do turn out to be true. So one should take the latest one with a grain of salt, but also don’t outright dismiss it.

The Mirror is reporting that Helena Bonham Carter has emerged as the top choice to play the main villain of Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as James Bond. Production is gearing up to start towards year’s end with director Danny Boyle helming from a script by John Hodge (and likely himself).

As a result, casting and specific filming dates are expected to start being locked down over the Summer. It’s not confirmed if Craig’s MI6 allies from the last two films – Ben Wishaw’s Q, Naomie Harris’ Miss Moneypenny, and Ralph Fiennes’ M – will carry over but it’s highly likely.

That just leaves the new faces and the British paper says while Craig’s old “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” co-star Angelina Jolie is thought by many to be the favorite, Carter is the top pick of the film’s producers.

If cast then the actress, who will next be seen in “Ocean’s 8,” will likely have to fit the film around her commitments to the role of Princess Margaret in Netflix’s “The Crown” for its upcoming third and fourth seasons.

The new Bond film is currently targeting a November 2019 release.

“Bond 25” Casting Rumour

A now deleted Instagram post (via The Playlist) from personal trainer Giacomo Farci showcased a video of actor Mark Strong (“Kingsman,” “Green Lantern”) working out while also including some hashtags suggesting Strong has a role in Danny Boyle’s upcoming James Bond film.

The film, the twenty-fifth original Bond film and the fifth and final film with Daniel Craig in the role, hasn’t yet locked in its cast members though Strong would be the second role to have scored a casting rumor following one the other week suggesting Helena Bonham Carter would play the film’s villain.

Whether he’s cast or not, the film will begin production in December.

Danny Boyle Exits The Next James Bond

boyle-plans-bond-25-shoot-late-2018-696x464.jpg

In a shock announcement, the official James Bond Twitter account has posted a tweet indicating Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle will no longer direct the next 007 film.

The tweet says producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and the film’s star Daniel Craig jointly announced Boyle’s exit which is due to ‘creative differences’.

https://twitter.com/007/status/1031...ns.com/danny-boyle-exits-the-next-james-bond/

Boyle has been linked to direct the new film since the start of the year, coming onboard with a whole new take that the producers and Craig warmed to for what will be Craig’s fifth and likely final outing. That new take has been developed with screenwriter John Hodge for several months so it’s unclear if the film is starting over from scratch or if they’ll try and salvage elements of Hodge’s work with new writers.

The project was gearing up for a shoot at the end of the year for a November 2019 release, so it’s likely those dates will be impacted by this news.

Boyle’s Bond Exit Due To Villain Casting?

boyles-bond-exit-due-to-villain-casting-696x464.jpg

Earlier this week came the news that just a few months out from filming, director Danny Boyle had walked away from the upcoming next James Bond film due to ‘creative differences’.

Now The Telegraph has done a follow-up report going further into the issues. According to the paper, while there were some issues with the storyline involving a modern-day Cold War and a Russian villain, the big point of contention was due to Boyle’s desire to cast Polish actor Tomasz Kot as the main villain.

Kot stars in Paweł Pawlikowski’s raved about “Cold War” which has been playing the film festival circuit for much of this year. However he was reportedly viewed as too ‘left field’ a choice for the character, with star Daniel Craig apparently the one not keen on the idea – a problem as Craig plays a key role in all casting choices. That’s why Craig name was included in the press release earlier this week as well.

That was reportedly the last straw as longtime film series producer Barbara Broccoli was allegedly already ‘infuriated’ by Boyle’s insistence that he bring in his own team, including writing partner John Hodge, which resulted in the previous script by writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade having been shelved.

With the film now unlikely to meet its late 2019 release, what happens next for the franchise isn’t clear. Will any of Hodge’s material survive? Will the older draft be revived? Will they just give up and move forward with a minor reboot? One person whom it won’t be if it is recast is Idris Elba, the actor himself telling Good Morning Britain this week a flat out “No!” when asked about the possibility.

Wright, MacKenzie, Vallee Up For “Bond 25”

wright-mackenzie-vallee-up-for-bond-25-696x464.jpg

Edgar Wright, David MacKenzie, Jean-Marc Vallee and Yann DeMange have reportedly emerged as the four names currently in contention to replace Danny Boyle at the helm of the upcoming 25th film in the James Bond franchise reports Deadline.

The list comes just days after Boyle left his post as director of the new film, Daniel Craig’s fifth and expected to be final outing in the role of 007, citing creative differences. Further reports have suggested a falling out between Boyle and both Craig and producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli over script and casting choices.

Just over a year ago, both MacKenzie (“Hell or High Water,” “Starred Up”) and DeMange (“’71,” “White Boy Rick”) were on the same shortlist for the gig alongside Denis Villeneuve – that was until Boyle was hired out of the blue earlier this year with a whole new take.

The new additions this time are Jean-Marc Vallee (“Big Little Lies,” “Dallas Buyers Club”) and the one and only Edgar Wright (“Hot Fuzz,” “Baby Driver”) with the latter the most unexpected choice as he’s as much (if not more so) an outright auteur who sticks to his own projects as opposed to being a hired gun. To be fair the same could be said for the other three names as well.

Vallee is reportedly the least likely to nab the gig due to scheduling issues. The new film was slated to begin shooting in early December ahead of a November 2019 release. Trades yesterday indicated both the shoot and release date are almost certain to movie, but neither MGM or Eon have announced any delays at this point.

Maybe they just.... shouldn't bother anymore?

Bond has had a great cinematic innings, but if continuing means all this indecisive faffing about at a studio level, while also fundementally morphing the original Fleming character beyond anything that their creator Fleming would have remotely recognised, then perhaps best to call it a day and move on, while cherishing the memories?

More “Bond” Boyle Talk Suggests 007’s Death?

more-bond-boyle-talk-suggests-007s-death-696x464.jpg

In the wake of Danny Boyle’s departure as director, still more reports are hitting the British tabloids with apparent studio insiders discussing the reasons for the filmmaker’s exit beyond the official line of ‘creative differences’.

At last report Boyle’s departure was said to be due to a fallout between Boyle, star Daniel Craig and producer Barbara Broccoli over Boyle’s casting wishes for the film’s supporting roles along with his insistence of bringing in his own people.

Now a new report at The Sun suggests that Craig and Broccoli, knowing this would be Craig’s final Bond film, reportedly wanted Bond to die in a ‘spectacular finale’. However, Boyle refused to kill off the secret agent:

“There were discussions about killing off Bond in dramatic fashion at the end. It would also leave it open for a twist in the next instalment – either Bond hadn’t died or there could be a Doctor Who-esque regeneration with a new actor.

There were clashes over budget and there’s pandemonium among crew with people leaving the production left, right and centre. There are fears the film will be put back months and backroom staff are worried about where their next pay cheque is coming from.”

Numerous other directors including Edgar Wright, David Mackenzie, Joe Wright and Yann Demange have all been mentioned as potential replacements at the helm.

“There were discussions about killing off Bond in dramatic fashion at the end. It would also leave it open for a twist in the next instalment – either Bond hadn’t died or there could be a Doctor Who-esque regeneration with a new actor.

My first honest thought was: could this be a symbolic method of effecting a gender change?

The studio kind of dramatically saying: "The Bond you knew is dead. He had no place in this world anymore. A cultural dinosaur, he deserves to be extinct.

But his replacement will be tailor made for a modern audience."

Could Jane Bond really be on her way?

Big deductive leap on my part, I know.

But that is the current trend.....
