Try Fanfiction.net you can write stuff on there, or blogspot.Comic books, watching movies/TV, and hanging out with the family. I used to write for a geek site, but it has recently shut down due to lack of activity. So I'm trying to find another place to express my insane ramblings. I've been seriously considering a YouTube channel, since my son has started his own. I also write, but my writer's block and constant time restraints and mental state have put it on hold.
Here please! I'd like more company on the "crazy rambling" thing... especially from you!So I'm trying to find another place to express my insane ramblings
Oh would you please!!!!! I haven't been able to read them for years (since all the gals went WWF "Barbie") and there are a couple I really miss that I'm sure you could bring me back for!Marvel will hire me to write and actually get them back on the right path.
Never grew a green thumb. As much as I love garden fresh veg, I can't talk myself into doing the work.Gardening
Love cooking! I used to binge cooking shows! I hate that Food Network went all reality/competition TV, because I miss just learning new recipes.Cooking
I used to read more than I do now, but I read when I can get the time. I love to read just about anything. Except mommy porn. No romance novels for me.Reading
Love watching it done, never have tried it. If I had more time, I could be talked into redoing some chairs or a curio cabinet.Refinishing old furniture
My deco sense is quite off. My dream house would have movie posters, comic book art, movie memorabilia, and coffins.Decorating
I used to draw quite a bit (my daughter is a far better artist than I ever was), and have dabbled in painting. I once got paid to do a mural in a bedroom for a friend's son. He had this pirate themed border, and I did a tropical island with a big skull cave. It was awesome!Painting
There needs to be a thread for this! We could spend hours on that topic!Casting my favorite book series for the ideal movie experience
I've a few short stories, and have been trying to get a few more done so I can self-publish a collection. I also have three or four novels (maybe five) all in my head. Alas, the blank page eludes me. ant-mac has talked me through my dysfunction, so maybe this is the year. I've some poetry, but it's more of an unrhyming, free form style. It will be included with the short stories.Writing (short stories, poetry, trying for a novel... and failing)
Yes.... I call it "bed"! Where I die every night from trying to keep up with myself and everyone else.... (what happens after I die is anyone's guess but I'd be nervous if I lived with me!)What, your house doesn't have coffins?
Yeah except everyone thinks my casting choices are garbage because, as you know, we all envision books in our own heads in our own ways and although I love the idea of sharing, I'm equally afraid the thread could just descend into chaos and then get sucked into a vortex and never be seen or heard from again! There needs to be a thread for this! We could spend hours on that topic!
I've actually had some experience with those from when I was teaching. PM me if pointers and some observations would be helpful. I love helping others give away money, especially when the money is going to people I like for worthy causes! If only I could get a government grant..
I'm actually self-taught. I inherited two very old steamer trunks that my Grandpa used to come over from Norway with him when he emigrated. They were in terrible shape and I wanted to fix them up and put them in my library/living room both to honor him and to use them as furniture. One made a perfect huge end table and the other, shorter one made a perfect coffee table.Love watching it done, never have tried it. If I had more time, I could be talked into redoing some chairs or a curio cabinet.
This, CS, constitutes an actual theme around which you could in fact, decorate a house (or at least one room if that's all you can get surrendered to you). I am actually in the process of creating a "sitting room" for myself in our one remaining bedroom as when we moved Mom into the house, she got the library/living room because it was both the biggest room in the house and on the first floor. So the room I put the most of myself into is gone and I need a replacement for my own peace of mind. Everywhere I look now it's pretty much her furniture and she's trying pretty hard to redecorate my house so it looks like her. So by god I'm going to get one room that is all me! A room you walk into and immediately think "I remember this". "This is what Janine "looks like" when she pours her heart into her house.... It may not make much sense but I worked hard on our home and my husband was on the road while I did most of it so having a small piece of all that back is really important to me.My dream house would have movie posters, comic book art, movie memorabilia
I would kill for that talent!..... And if, after climbing into my "coffin", I could travel in my sleep, I would come to your house and suck that talent out of you like blood! You should be very afraid my friend!I did a tropical island with a big skull cave. It was awesome!
See, I would do rooms differently, to reflect the many personalities in my head. One would be super heroes, another old Hollywood, probably 1920-50. Lots of Bogart, Chaplin, film canisters, all of that. One would be Horror themed, mostly focusing on old Universal monsters, but some modern horror as well. Things of that nature. And the bedroom, wellllll.....have you ever seen Caligula? This, CS, constitutes an actual theme around which you could in fact, decorate a house (or at least one room if that's all you can get surrendered to you).
Yay!!! And couldn't my folks have just said "eccentric" and not "odd child"?And for all of us "eccentrics"......... The DBs!
In all honesty.... I started using "eccentric" because I was getting "odd" and "bizarre" and "wow, she's just weird" from pretty much everyone I knew so eccentric became a self-defense shield that none of the other stuff could penetrate.....And couldn't my folks have just said "eccentric" and not "odd child"?

Yeah, done that too. But I decided that even given chainsaw's "handle" I just couldn't see him using it as a decorating tool so I thought it'd be best to just give that one a pass....I've seen CALIGULA...
Should I ever come into a serious sum of money, I shall invest in an industrial size shed and deck out its interior in the style of a multi-level TARDIS - from Classic Who. It shall have a primary and secondary console room at the front and rear - based upon the console rooms first seen in AN UNEARTHLY CHILD and THE MASQUE OF MANDRAGORA - complete with appropriate furniture. All controls shall be in working order and have logical, realistic and useful functions. Bedrooms and rest areas within the TARDIS shall be accurately based upon their fictional counterparts from stories such as THE EDGEOF DESTRUCTION and ARC OF INFINITY. Kitchen, laundry and bathroom facilities shall, as closely as possible, resemble what their TARDIS equivalents would be like and their would even be a food machine to dispense healthy, pre-packaged food, medicines and water. I might even include a small swimming pool in the lowest level, a large library and a small art gallery in the middle level and on the very top level there would be an extensive arboretum - THE INVASION OF TIME. The construction would have no windows, but the arboretum would come complete with transparent roof panels that could be removed if necessary. The entire exterior of the construction would be in police box blue and have a set of police box doors front and rear...Yeah, done that too. But I decided that even given chainsaw's "handle" I just couldn't see him using it as a decorating tool so I thought it'd be best to just give that one a pass....
By all means, decorate in your own style! But I think one should pause before considering actual blood as an acceptable paint color!
And then there's the body parts.... which is just a bit gauche and over-the-top don't you think? Plus, once never wants to copy the style of another in it's entirety.... I mean really!!
Actually, most of them are... Disembodied heads, disembodied hands... This place is a regular abattoir!and where are the emojis for dismembered body parts anyway?!!!
