During WW 2, a Basque shepherd is approached by the underground, who wants him to lead a scientist and his family across the Pyrenees. While being pursued by a sadistic German.

I remember seeing this film years ago on late night telly and finding it disturbing, with Malcolm McDowell's performance as a Nazi chilling in his depiction of amused cruelty.

Now I find that it is - and always has been - regarded as a load of rubbish and Malcolm's performance as ridiculously campy.

Next people will be saying that my beloved King Kong Lives was less than a classic!
