A young reporter and his niece discover a beautiful and enchanting creature they believe to be the real little mermaid.

This one has potential (nearly said could have legs - so glad I stopped myself in time).
Could it be that mermaids are about to replace zombies as our next-favourite not completely human entities?
And does anyone else remember Miranda, a very sweet and silly comedy about a mermaid that Glynis Johns made decades before becoming the mother in Mary Poppins?

The renewed interest in mermaids could have something to do with this 2 Netflix series. They both provide light, easy and sometimes educational entertainment.

- H2O: Just Ad Water > 3 seasons
- Mako Mermaids: An H2O Adventure > 4 seasons

I think both series were filmed in Australia w/ Australian actors
