Inevitably and occasionally a thread will veer wildly off topic, or a poster may be looking for conflict rather than meaningful discussion, or obsessing over an unrelated interest, to the point where the conversation is stuck in an unpleasant loop , or descending into chaos, and the original point of posting on that particular topic is lost..

id movie/tv movie/show from 80's

boy and his father/uncle/some father figure, don't know which it was, are sitting on a boat. boy sees numbers tattooed on the man's arm. asks him, "i thought you said we weren't allowed to get tattoos." man answers that he got it in the concentration camp in the holocaust. any idea what this is from? thanks.

In any case, if it's from a film, then hopefully that particular scene would be included in a basic plot description somewhere. Since it's likely to be a drama than any other genre, I looked at every 1980s drama films with a Wikipedia article. As keywords, I tried with "tattoo", "Holocaust" and "concentration camp", but to no avail.

There are several possibilities here: One is that the particular scene wasn't reflective of what the movie was about and thus excluded from the plot summary. Another reason could be that no one from Wikipedia has even written a plot summary because it's too obscure. Or it could be that the film is categorized as another genre altogether.

You can play around with the search functions and try entering different parameters. For example, what if it's a 1980s telelvision movie? This search would then limit to 1980s drama films that were straight-to-TV, just to give you an example.

smithtutti we won't tolerate that kind of behavior towards another member of this community. I think you could try to come up with a better way to say things to a member that was trying to help you. You have your first warning point.

No, it would be a whip tipped with bits of metal, bone or other sharp objects. She would very quickly start bleeding and suffer permanent scars. She wouldn't enjoy it at all.
