Eddie Murphy opted to make this instead of STAR TREK IV: THE VOYAGE HOME.
Years since I have seen it, but I do remember a bit where he is not supposed to lose a single drop of water from a glass as a test on pain of death, but is clearly shown spilling some. That and - I think - a coke can somehow coming to life and dancing.
Murphy later said that he was mistaken to make this film and should have done STAR TREK instead.
