This popped up as a new release on Netflix, and I got excited. Growing up in Iowa, I know all about the murders (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villisca_axe_murders), and the premise sounded promising. As it turned out, it wasn't. It's a pretty basic horror trope, with a group of teens breaking into a famous haunted location, and dealing with the spirits. The three protagonists all have traumatic backstories, there's some possession, and in the end, you feel like you just wasted 78 minutes. I won't spoil it in case anyone really wants to see it, but I can't in good conscience recommend it. This made the Grave Encounters films look like masterpieces. Boring story, bad acting, plot that really goes nowhere, and horrible ending. The young lady was rather attractive, but that isn't enough for me to ask anyone else to watch it.
