Review Rebel Without a Cause (1955)

Dean is iconic in this. It's probably the first film ever to tap into teen isolation, alienation and disenchantment. Themes such as self worth, parental responsibility and friendship are covered and the story is brilliantly controlled by director Ray. His use of colour and component highlight character expression and emotion; the supporting performances from Wood, Mineo (in his screen debut) and Backus (as the dad, playing completely against type) are superb. A masterpiece.

Great movie, story, quotes, and still love the old poster artwork. Sadly movies today just don't cut it with the poster work. To much computer cut, and paste. I swear no one paints, and draws anymore. Always loved old movie posters some were simply, and got the point across others were bright, and bold. Old horror movies have always been a favorite of mine. Even some of the old carnival art banners were pretty neat looking.
