Bill O’Reilly’s New “Patton” Film Cancelled
National Geographic Channel has dropped plans for a TV movie adaptation of Bill O’Reilly’s best-selling novel “Killing Patton”.
The project would’ve marked the fifth installment in the ‘Killing’ franchise which have been ratings hits for Nat Geo. Multiple writers were brought in to attempt to bang out a script, but ultimately they decided to scrap it.
The project was first announced in 2015 and was to explore the life of the iconic World War II general. At the time a 2019 premiere date was being targeted.
In a statement on Thursday, the network says: “It was in development for a couple of years, and it was a difficult project to crack creatively. Like most projects in development, it didn’t go the distance, so we passed on it.”
The cancellation comes less than two months after Fox News severed ties with O’Reilly amid multiple sexual harassment claims.
