Four young outsiders teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe which alters their physical form in shocking ways. The four must learn to harness their new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

There are the basic seeds of a good movie in there - buried deeply. Not a good Fantastic Four movie, mind you, but a good basic action/horror film. But those seeds weren't very well tended and a lot of weeds grew up around them.

In answer to your question - Yes. Yes it really was that bad.

No, it wasn't that bad but it wasn't great either.

The director claiming interference didn't help matters. He did a decent job with Chronicle.
