The film where Bruce Willis proved that there was more to him than just Moonlighting....

And Alan Rickman became the villain that we loved to hate...

Still a sublime film. Almost perfect.

in the 80s, action stars were man-mountains who wouldn't flinch if a chair was broken over their heads. In the 00s, they became Bourne-esqe robots trained to respond instinctively like a machine. Die Hard tried something new (which has since been forgotten). It was an average man who made it up as he went along. His first kill isn't due to his strength, his ninja skills, or his training -- its due to them both falling down the stairs and the terrorist accidentally breaking his neck.

It was and still is, an amazing film (and that's before we even get on to the brilliant Rickman).

I always liked Bruce Willis in Moonlighting, but it was this film that made his career. Xmas was never the same. Good story telling. Never a dull moment, can watch it over & over & never get bored. And what can one say about Alan Rickman, another great gone to soon.

Disney now has its hands on Fox’s key franchises including “X-Men,” “Alien,” “Predator,” “Avatar,” “Die Hard,” “Planet of the Apes,” “Kingsman” and “Fantastic Four” (which is listed in the press release). Disney now also controls the full rights to all “Star Wars” films with the previously Fox-owned 1977 original likely to go back to Disney’s Lucasfilm – meaning theatrical re-releases and a potential home video version of the original theatrical cut.

The raging debate of whether “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie continues with 20th Century Fox adding fuel to the fire with a new home video release of the movie just in time for its 30th anniversary.

The Christmas edition Blu-ray comes complete with a festive holiday sweater cover and joins the 4K remastered film collection of the seminal 80s action movie and its sequels which are currently available to own on 4K digital.

In addition, Fox has released a trailer celebrating the film as one of the greatest Christmas classics of all time. Check the cover and trailer below.
