Coco is an upcoming American 3D computer-animated fantasy-comedy adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. On August 15, 2015, Pixar confirmed the title of the film, inspired by the Mexican holiday Día de Muertos, at the D23 Expo. Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich, it is being directed by Unkrich and co-directed and written by Adrian Molina.

It is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2017.


Plot

Despite his family's generation-old ban on music, Miguel (Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz (Benjamin Bratt). Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the Land of the Dead. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector (Gael García Bernal) and together they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Pixar’s “Coco” Gets A Poster Ahead Of A Trailer

Pixar and Disney have released a new one-sheet for the upcoming CG animated feature “Coco”. The poster comes ahead of a second trailer for the film which has been rated and is slated to be launched online in the next few days.

Lee Unkrich (“Up”) helms the story of a young boy with a musical gift, who goes on an unlikely adventure in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events.

Gael Garcia Bernal, Anthony Gonzalez, Benjamin Bratt, and Renee Victor lend their voices to the film which opens November 22nd.

Second Trailer: Disney & Pixar’s “Coco”

Disney and Pixar have released the second trailer for their original animated feature “Coco” which you can see below. Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”) helms the story set around the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos.

Coco follows the secret musical ambitions of Miguel (voiced by Anthony Gonzalez), who resides in a lively, loud Mexican village but comes from a family of shoemakers that may be the town’s only music-hating household.

Miguel harbours a secret desire to seize his musical moment, inspired by his favorite singer of all time. However, in trying to emulate the famous singer and, in doing so, accidentally enters the Land of the Dead.

“Coco” opens November 22nd.
