Yup, and from what I've read about it on the IMDb message boards (there's a novelization of the movie, so people who read it are posting about the differences between the original and the remake), it sounds like they are trying to make the plot make more sense. Give it a better flow, so to speak. It sounds great. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite Disney films, and it just seems like so long to wait.

:D~ I can't wait too see Beauty and the Beast. I remember seeing the trailer of it for the first time in the theaters with some friends. We all went like it will be cool to see this new version. Except for one of my friends that said that it might not be as good. Since she mentioned Cinderella as an example and didn't like some of the changes they did. I admit that I enjoyed it but I didn't give it no ten stars either. I luv the original so much. But I still excited to see Beauty and the Beast. I enjoy the original animated Disney movie and the Broadway musical too.

Beauty and the Beast
is a 2017 British/American 3D romantic fantasy musical drama film directed by Bill Condon and written by Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spiliotopoulos.[4] A Walt Disney Pictures and Mandeville Films co-production, the film is a live-action re-imagining of Disney's 1991 animated film of the same name, itself an adaptation of Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont's fairy tale. The film stars a British and American ensemble cast that includes Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. In the film, Belle is taken prisoner by a fearsome Beast in his enchanted castle and she learns to look beyond his appearance while evading a narcissistic hunter who seeks to take Belle for himself.

Principal photography began at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England on May 18, 2015, and ended on August 21. The film initially premiered on February 23, 2017 in London, England, followed by a US premiere in Hollywood two weeks later on March 6, and is later to be released in the United States and United Kingdom from March 17, 2017, in standard, Disney Digital 3-D, RealD 3D, IMAX formats and Dolby Cinema.

Gay you say? I thought everyone and everything in Disney's whole "world" was supposed to be gay? You know... Gaily singing and gaily dancing their way through our rotted teeth (a poorly done sugar reference)! In any case... bad idea with a scary-great cast and that's just too depressing for words.

A camp character is outrageous but a young woman engaging in bestiality is fine apparently.
Well..... obviously! And I think it isn't "officially beastiality" because her love makes him "human" again....
just as the love of any good woman should! Otherwise they'd have to give it an X rating and that would raise the old man himself right up from the grave. I am, however, highly skeptical of singing teapots. I believe them able to spread homosexuality by proximity, let alone actually drinking from one!

I think I have, officially, just gone round the bend!..........helppppppppppp meeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!

:emoji_relieved:~ I just saw the movie today with my friend and her little girl. Too be honest; I didn't not quite like it. Only rate it with with two stars. The movie wasn't like the original. The actress that played Belle wasn't that pretty, the beast and all of palace utensils/furniture were so ugly. I preferred the Disney's 1991 version any time then this film anytime.

I must admit that it was cute to see so many little girls dressed up as Belle in the theater or wear a B&B accessories.

Well, I saw it and I'm glad I did. It's a lovely, breathtaking movie. The sets are beyond belief, the costumes should be award winning. But, and this is a big but for me because I really wanted to fall in love with the story all over again, but I'm in agreement with @Sunflower007 and my heart belongs to the original 1991 animated version.
This new one has become a blockbuster classic on its own merit and for those that did not see the 1991 version, they have nothing to make a comparison to, so this is the one that will be in their hearts. For those of you that might be on the edge, by all means go see it. It is a visually beautiful film that tells of how love can happen between a Beauty and a Beast...:emoji_purple_heart:

I thought it was fantastic. It remained true to the animated version but expanded on it without taking away from the story. And visually it was glorious. I've now seen this in all three versions (animated, stage, and movie) and really couldn't say which is my favourite. They all have merits.

Where & when did you see it on stage? How were the sets & costumes, especially the ball gown?
I do like the new gown, was very much like the animated one.

I saw the Australian production (since that's where I live). Costumes were fantastic. I don't really remember the ball gown specifically but it was all very impressive. They had to be fairly creative with the furniture characters (since they had to fit in a full size person) so the scale wasn't realistic, but allowing for that limitation it worked pretty well. I remember one of the characters was a rug which was extremely acrobatic. The sets were much more limited than the movie versions but they worked well and reflected the animated version. They added a couple of songs for the theatre version (one of which was Is this home? which was retained for the new version. The atmosphere of a live performance is always intense and I loved every minute of it. I wished I could see it again (although given theatre prices I'm pleased I managed to see it once).

I have also seen all three and participated in a stage version. FYI the stage version contains eight songs the animated version does not, and I had to search some of them online to listen to and rehearse. I am sorry to say I have no pictures of my own of our stage version, but here is a gallery by a very talented photographer who documents all our productions: http://kayaker611.jalbum.net/The Liberty Theater 2003-2008/2007 Beauty and the Beast/index.html

Construction of the costumes was immensely difficult and extremely well done. One of the hardest aspects was to mount the rose high above everyone's head and still allow for it to lose petals at the right moments. The director's mechanical genius of a husband managed this.
