Effects-laden movie with a political subtext has a fantastic cast but not much in the way of suspense. There’s also little emotive connection, as it’s hard to root for the fiery, pint-sized protagonist when she’s blowing up anyone and everyone in her wake. A great excuse for some awesome stunt...

I know this may sound like a dumb question, but, I'm assuming that the 'reveal' will be the same as the original?? The reason I ask, is because I thought the twist was really good in the original. Little point in watching it, if you've seen the first film (if reveal is the same).

Like the original, this has its moments with a few genuine, intermittent scares. Because it plays mostly for laughs, though, it comes across like a camp, tongue-in-cheek B movie (not necessarily a bad thing!).

Tense, well-executed horror that keeps its audience guessing for the first hour. It then descends into a gleefully wild gorefest that’s preposterous even by slasher movie standards.

It's a violent, dark, visually arresting film, given added impact and allure due to the on-set tragedy. The revenge storyline is familiar and often hokey but there’s atmosphere and style to spare with a brooding, somber tone offset by striking production design and a suitable heavy metal soundtrack.

I regard A HARD DAY'S NIGHT as one of the best films of its time. Really captures the essence of the band and the era

I'd say he tries to stay well clear of anyone that's 'high maintenance' or with emotional baggage. Rooney Mara had a difficult shoot on DRAGON TATTOO, but look at her reward- an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.

I saw this recently, too. It's like the antithesis of ALL THE PRESIDENT'S MEN! Melinda Dillon is especially good in a heart-breaking role.

I think he's a genius, and one of the best living film directors; should've won an Oscar for THE SOCIAL NETWORK.

It's not a horror film, but THE KILLER INSIDE ME gets very very nasty. Poor Jessica Alba, and that lovely face:emoji_expressionless:

Quite simply, this film is a complete assault on the senses, bringing the horror genre to new levels. Classic.

This is very similar to the first film with lots of visual flair, stunning special effects plus a slightly darker tone. The long running time is still unwarranted though and the narrative is sometimes clumsy. Branagh is a lively addition as the irritating Gilderoy Lockhart.
